Interesting about probiotics and inulin to help with long term Covid symptoms
I just found this article from the U.K. which found lactobacillus probiotics and inulin a chicory product helped people with long Covid and helped some of them get rid of their long term gut issues. The article caught my husbands eye as he has been adding inulin and Kefir to his diet to help with

PCa-specific Survival after Radical Prostatectomy Is Improved by Metformin but not other Antidiabetic Drugs
New study from Finland below [1]. "Only postdiagnostic metformin use was associated with reduced risks of PCa death {53% reduction} and ADT initiation compared with nonusers." While Metformin users would be predominantly diabetic, it looks as though "nonusers" inxlude non-diabetics. "insulin and insulin

Can I use insulin syringe for injection and draw up from ampoule?
Is that necessary to buy needle and syringe for hydroxo ampoule which is on its way and be delivered soon. Currently I use half inch insulin syringe but its needle can't be replaced and since I draw up from multi dose ampoule there is no need for filter needle. Can I use the same needle for injection

Anyone on or know of anyone on peptide therapy?
My doctor suggested I go on peptide therapy. Generally speaking these are amino acids that need to be self injected much like an insulin shot over a prescribed schedule of roughly 20-30 days. He heard about this at a conference where discussed with regards to PD. FYI, I was diagnosed 15 months ago,

Keeping Tocilizumab (and insulin, and food!) cool in a powercut
I seem to have accidentally joined NRAS when I was trying to respond to a question that appeared on my PMRGCAUK feed. Someone was asking how to store Tocilizumab during a prolonged power cut. I have stored my supply of Ro -Actemra in a coolbox in the boot of my car (along with food items that also needed

Stem cell-based implants successfully secrete insulin in patients with type 1 diabetes...Big Hope...
Interim results from a multicenter clinical trial demonstrate insulin secretion from engrafted cells in patients with type 1 diabetes. The safety, tolerability, and efficacy of the implants, which consisted of pancreatic endoderm cells derived from human pluripotent stem cells (PSCs), were tested

Besremi versus Pegasys
This question was raised by Flynn2107 months ago. I looked into it and replied there but it seems worth a new post with the recent FDA approval. PEG and Ropeg (Besremi) use polyethylene glycol (PEG) to control the release of the INF molecule. The earliest INFs had less of a control element and more

Labs and medication dosage question
Hey all. I know you aren’t doctors, and I do have a thyroid dr, but she’s not my actual dr,( she costs thousands of dollars) BUT she has been nice enough to give me some medication recommendations as I had her on my podcast. I’ve had a night mare of a week with my other thyroid dr who basically told

It's been a while since I've posted - 10 months or so... I've been very lazy about meds for months and finally recommitted myself to the process when my hair REALLY started to get thin and I got even heavier. Below are my Oct and December Thriva results. I haven't spoken to a doctor in months about

Almost 12 years ago I had surgery to remove an adenoma on my parathyroid gland. The surgeon not only removed 2 1/2 parathyroid glands but also did a complete thyroidectomy. There was no cancer. The surgeon said my thyroid was small and fragile (I suspect he didn't know what he was doing. I live in

Looking for the best supplement for pcos ?
Look no further , are you struggling on metformin ? , just taking Myo inositol ? Or maybe your not taking anything for your insulin resistance ? Let me introduce you to my lil friend, Inositol is a brilliant supplement. Inositol influences the action of insulin, a hormone essential for blood sugar control

Time to Lose Weight
With not being able to use my prosthetic for nine months, being mainly confined to a wheelchair and with zero physio my weight has shot up to 102.6 kg. One problem is the more I weigh the greater my insulin requirements and the faster the weight gain. I have decided to post to try and increase my motivation

Hi everyone, I’m being induced a week today at 38 weeks due to gestational diabetes which I’m on insulin for. I was induced with my daughter 2 years ago after my waters broke but labor didn’t start, so this time will be different, baby is on 95th centile, I had a 3rd degree tear last time and just feeling

Bronchiectasis.. pseudomonas and Candida🙄
Have Bronchiectasis.. been fine for 10 years with the occasional exacerbation clearing with amoxicillin. October came down with nasty pseudomonas infection and given ciprofloxacin.. Thought it had cleared up but then last week coughing up bits of phlegm sent it off and it’s grown pseudomonas staphylococcus
