New member not diagnosed.
Hello everyone, I'm a new member here who's spent the last couple weeks researching liver disease, reading your stories, trying to prepare myself for what I may have to look forward to. A little back story. I'm a 38 year old disabled combat veteran. I sustained a traumatic brain injury while in Iraq

Investigating the Influence of Excipients on the Stability of Levothyroxine Sodium Pentahydrate
There has been a tiny rivulet of papers questioning the formulation of levothyroxine products. Time and again, the papers identify problems with excipients of which a large proportion of real products contain at least one. I'm sure it is not the entire picture. But this rivulet has been flowing for

Do medium-chain triglycerides downregulate mTOR?
I ran across some info about MCTs turning off mTOR and amping up AMPK (possibly resulting in an increase in autophagy and also lipolysis). Does anyone have any info on whether or not MCTs are potentially beneficial for prostate cancer?

CKD at age 39
Hi everyone, so I’m a male at the age of 39, I have CKD. My GFR is 23.4, is there anything I can do to raise my GFR numbers, Lower my Creatinine level? I workout 6 days a week, I’m on a low sodium diet, and only consume around 60-90 grams of protein a day.

The right doc. makes a world of difference!
I found out that I had CKD stage 3A a little over 2 months ago. I wrote on here and so many of you were really helpful and gave me great advice. Since then, I've been reading, reading, and reading some more. I have myself on a very kidney-friendly diet. Although it still keeps biting in the butt. One

Nalcrom and Intal update
When I spoke with Sanofi recently they confirmed that we should expect Nalcrom to begin being available at wholesalers in the week commencing May 24, 2021. Intal, the inhaled version of sodium cromoglycate, should be available this week (May 10, 2021). Glad to report this progress.

Moved around
My husband has a new dialysis manager that’s very young and hasn’t been a manager for long. She has the center in an uproar by moving people around daily each treatment and changing the doctor’s prescription of medications on the machine. It’s so frustrating to hear my husband talk about it and I feel

Sodium intake
We are often told to restrict sodium intake, and this is probably a good idea if we are accustomed to eating a lot of prepared foods. However it is possible to become sodium deficient if cooking for oneself and reducing salt to the barest minimum. This can lead to some inexplicable symptoms as I personally
