If so, don’t be! There is a degree of tolerance and your doctors are unlikely to be at all bothered until you have more than one test that is more than 10% over or under normal levels. It could just be that you were a bit dehydrated that day.
As for the Vit D, make sure you eat some oily fish every week and/eggs, roll your sleeves up outside and if need be buy an OTC supplement.
Thank you for your reply yes the 5.6 potassium reading he says he wants me to go back for a retest that’s due on 10th hoping it’s just a lab error and thank you for the advice it’s much appreciated xx😍
To be honest as well my test was at like 9.30am only had a cup of tea bfore test no other drink did notice nurse ask me to clench few times to make get vain and didn’t wipe area bfore taking blood nor did she use the toricaine think I spelt it wrong haha she did ask if I had drank much as my veins looked rubbish
Clenching your fist can lead to an inaccurate test as I have found to my cost in the past, particularly with high potassium levels. Now I avoid that phlebotomist and go elsewhere. Was told in A & E that dehydration does not affect potassium levels. Hope that helps.
I just read on line about fist clenching that it’s not suppose to happen any more that thay should not ask for patient to do it as can raise levels there again the area wasn’t cleaned bfore test either then she shook the bottle
