Update to my recent post re bleed behind eye
I had retinal surgery today for a vitreous haemorrhage which caused a detached retina. I dont think it is related to taking anticoagulants but next week I will contact my GP to discuss, hospital thinks it was wear and tear and age related. So relieved I decided to seek help from Moorfields, they were

Eye pain
To all GCA people! In my determination to get fitter, I’m having problems with pain behind my eyes when I try to push myself a bit further. Do others have the same body-response when trying to increase their fitness? I can walk, briskly, up hills for about 20 minutes and then a further 20 mins on

Amsler Grid, lack of self-confidence, and reading tips
When I use the grid, I cannot see changes from day to day. I worry that I am missing something. The fear is made worse because I feel my reading ability is deteriorating. I live in the States and do not have to wait two weeks for an appointment. When I call and say I think I see a change, I am seen

I was diagnosed with wet AMD in my left eye 2 years ago, since then I’ve been receiving regular (4/5/6) weekly injections and scans. Is a sore throat a GCA symptom?
I’m writing this for my mother and apologies in advance for the lengthy explanation. My mother was diagnosed with PMR in November. We think she probably had it for sometime but as my father was receiving full time palliative care at home we were not as aware of her health issues as my dad was so poorly

Information about spinal cord compression.
Has anyone experienced a spinal cord compression or fracture? Can you share your experiences. Has anyone experienced what it means to prevent one. We know that getting an MRI to show the urgency of treatment is one thing and then the mention of surgery. We don't know what that means. Who handles this

Phantom smell
Hello all, My sense of smell is present, but for the last 6 weeks I have been smelling a foul scent that is not really there. It is almost like a pungent soap. Originally I thought it was coming from the clothes that were washed and may have had too much soap or something, but after this long it is

Is this a flare?
Sorry this is so late, I just wondered if any of you might be around to give me a word or two of your wisdom at short notice... GCA since last August, at which time I had a 6th nerve palsy and double vision, but luckily I kept the sight. 7 months later, Prednisolone down from 60 mg to 12.5 as advised
