I'm new here, just got a print out of my blood test results for Thyroid and they also did a Cholesterol tests.
I have an underatcive Thyroid and this was my checkup so asked for the blood results to be printed (thanks to the Thyroid community here). I see they also did Serum lipid level tests and I'm a little concerned on the results although my Doctor did not mention them. I am hoping this is related as since

I tried to copy and paste. For some reason, it could not re-produce the chart that he prepared.[/b

US vs UK healthcare
Hi all, Noticing that a lot of you are from the US, (#Barnclown )I was wondering how you compared the difference in health care? I lived in the US for many years and although expensive, I found the health care top notch. The main difference for me is A+E or ER. Here, the tendency is to run bloods

More important then LDL and HDL
Hi I am new here and have been struck, looking at the posts, at how dominated people are by their levels of HDL and LDL and of course total cholesterol. This surprises me because their is well documented evidence that other lipid profiles are more predictive than simply looking at LDL. For example you

A fat is the cause of type 2 diabetes
What if there’s enough insulin, but the insulin doesn’t work? The key is there, but something’s gummed up the lock. This is insulin resistance. Our muscle cells become resistant to the effect of insulin. What’s gumming up the locks on our muscle cells? What’s preventing insulin from letting glucose in

Advice on managing -or not- my 'high cholesterol' levels, linked to my under active thyroid
Hi, I've not posted here for a while, however I do have some questions that maybe someone may help me find a solution to. Firstly I'm hypothyroidien and on daily Levothyroxine (87.5), I'm ready to accept that it is quite well managed- a part from side effects (quite a number but I can support them),

Fighting the gremlins...
I started out in May weighing 155 pounds and two weeks ago I was down to 144 pounds - only 7 pounds from my goal of 137. My weight loss has been slow at around half a pound a week but that was fine by me. Over the past twenty weeks I have run at least 5K three times a week and increased my strength training
