Question of the Day: How Long Does it Take to Recover form Hepatitis C Treatment?
How long does recovery from hep C treatment take? Will I regain my life beyond recovery? When you stop taking treatment medication you do not instantly regain all your energy and treatment side effects disappear overnight. Restoration and rebuilding does not happen overnight. It takes time for all

Latest visit to GP
Last trip to GP very interesting! Due to my medical history and range of specialists I visit, I am one of 90 patients from the practice given direct access to a clerk (via dedicated phone) who can then arrange appointments, repeat prescriptions, treatments, etc. The payoff was answering questions (2 of

Out on my own
Hi everyone sorry not been on in a while but so much has happened over the last few months. I have just come to realise that I am out on my own with this. I have AIH/PBC overlap and it is now over a year since I saw a consultant. My consultant left the NHS to go back to Australia and it seems that either

Antinuclear Factor Question
Please could anyone tell me what an antinuclear factor of 2.3 equates to? It says on the form that it is "High" but there is no mention of a ratio or pattern. I alo have anti dsDNA of 8 (range is 0-20). All other antibodies tested were negative. Is this likely to be Lupus? (I do have symptoms and currently

Well, it's been several months since I stopped drinking and I am at wits' end. The past week I have felt crummier (when all month felt pretty good) with some shakeyness, dizziness and generally felling unwell. Some pins and needles here and there, and my anxiety is still horrid. I also have constant

Is Hepatitis C Clearance Possible for People Who Inject Drugs?
Researchers have previously shown that 20-40% of people infected with hepatitis C fight off and clear the virus from their body without any medical intervention. This does not mean, though, that these individuals are immune to reinfection. Australian researchers report 9 confirmed and 17 possible cases

AIH - Drug Free Remission
Just been to see liver consultant. (I have AIH/PBC Overlap Syndrome - Diagnosed 2011). Currently on 100mg of Aza for the AIH and he's going to try and wean me off 25mg at a time every 6 months to see if I can stay in remission. 40% chance of success so let's hope I'm in the minority for something positive

How to rule out pbc...is an ama enough?
Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. I'm very confused about how to definitively diagnose or rule out PBC, and AIH. A recent yearly physical revealed my ALT liver enzymes were at 98. Doctor said it could be anything, including pbc. He ran an AMA antibody test hat came back negative today...and said
