An HCV survivor who never had HepC
No never had HCV. I lost my wife Carla DEC 28 2008. Since 2009 a member of Hepatitis C Family and Friends Support Group. Admin for 4 year. This is my life now in honor of my Carla. So often we hear of post treatment health issues, often blamed on the new DAA treatments. I find it dismaying that so many

My Rheumatology doctor is refusing to treat me whilst I am taking T3 which is prescribed by my Endocrinologist can he do this?
My Edno constantly nagging me to reduce T3 I resist and as I say I am feeling better for taking it . she prescribes it 60 mcg per day but writes to my gp saying I am well and doing good but that she suggests lowering the amount however I am reluctant to do so. She sends me to Rheumatologist for bones

Question about Autoimmune Hepatitis
I've been tested over and over for AIH. While my LFTs keep indicating autoimmunity (at least, my Gastroenterologist said the fluctuations indicated autoimmunity) but I do not have any of the normal autoantibodies and the one biopsy showed no immune problems (though she said that might've just been because

Partial liver transplant
Has anyone had a discussion with their consultant about partial liver transplant from a living donor? My husband has end stage liver disease and although we have read lots of information on liver transplants I can't see anything specifically about living donors. Any advice would be appreciated.

Vitamin E for Skin
Vitamin E as an antioxidant helps to maintain overall health preventing various diseases. It’s a fat-soluble vitamin and also helps in the proper functioning of the organs, various activities related to enzymes, preventing heart disease, high blood pressure and some neurological activities as well.

Building your lining
Just wanted to share this with you all that are currently trying to build your lining ready for a transfer. This is the second time for me to do this after a miscarriage at 15 weeks with my previous pregnancy. My lining seems to be quite a bit thicker this time. These are the things that I've been doing

Hepatitis B vaccine before Ocrevus?
Anyone have to get a Hepatitis B vaccine prior to starting Ocrevus? I was asked to get the vaccine (which is actually a total of three doses; get the first two doses now) before starting O.

Media request from the British Liver Trust
We have had an inquiry from a national newspaper looking for someone to share their experience of being diagnosed with Hepatitis C. Would you be happy to share your story to encourage people to get tested if they believe they are at risk? If you would like to find out more, please contact British

LiverMultiScan
I'm new to this group. I'm just wondering why the Perspectum Diagnostics LiverMultiScan developed in Oxford is not yet being widely used in NHS hospitals? The USA has grabbed this amazing software with both hands but over here I think Southampton have it, Birmingham has used it for trials and Derriford

Kidney disease and RSL
Lately I’ve been experiencing really bad RSL to the point I can miss 2-3 days of sleep. I live in Florida and the medical care outside of Tampa is horrid. There are so many drug addicted abusing the system coupled with the overwhelming amount of older folks that I think the doctors here are just exhausted

Scared about hep c.
In 1974 I was diagnosed with with hepatitis. The doctor wasn`t clear about what type, but he told me that it was an Australian virus. I recovered very quickly & have had normal liver function tests ever since. There is one other thing that`s worrying me, I had a blood transfusion in 1983 after an operation

Day 1 of Epclusa
Hi everyone, took my first Epclusa tablet today, I had been very nervous about the meds but it was ok, the 2 litres of water I have to drink daily is a challenge but I think I can get used to that, however it does mean many trips to the loo. I am type 3a no cirrhosis, Alt 61 but don't know my viral
