I have an irregular heartbeat my heart misses the 7th beat. Should I be concerned in regard to covid-19. I also have high BP controlled.
The doctors said they were not concerned at the time because my irregular heartbeat is regularly irregular. Each year I have to have the flu jab I presumed it was to do with my blood pressure I'm told this is not the case they don't give you the flu jab for blood pressure.so I wonder if I had been given

Anyone here taking Tenofovir Alafenamide (TAF) instead of Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (TDF) for Hepatits B?
Hello all, I was wondering, are there any Hep B sufferers in the UK that have been prescribed the newer formulation of Tenofovir (Tenofovir alafenamide; TAF)? I know it is associated with a significantly lower risk of reduced kidney function. From what I have read in the available medical literature

Ugh now diabetes
Hi again. I have now been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I have been put on insulin injections plus Metaformin at night. I am not over weight and have never had any sign of diabetes before suddenly taking seriously ill and being admitted to hospital. I know that Metaformin depletes Vitamin B levels

Experiences of amphotericin?
Hi. Jacmidlands over on the BLF forum replied to a post about my 12 yo daughter pointing me in this direction, and I’m hoping some of you can help. She has fairly severe cystic fibrosis, and we’re unfortunately very familiar with bacterial infection as a result, but fungal issues are relatively new.

Experiences of amphotericin?
Small person is off to 5* on Friday for her fortnight of the ‘good stuff’, a little earlier than planned although mostly ok overall, but with the addition of amphotericin alongside IV colomycin and piptaz. I’ll post a proper update soonish, as there’s been quite a bit going on even with lockdown happening

Been having treatment in a private clinic it's Covid free great care from my nurse specialist as always. Take care out there and

Hi Can I ask all UK readers. I assumed as I have PBC I would receive a letter from my local Health Centre about the 12 week self isolation but as of yet I have not received any notification even though I recieve the flu vaccine yearly. Does PCB not fit this criteria? Thanks

Question on hepatitis reversible
My Doctor doesn’t think I have ALD but instead autoimmune hepatitis (maybe) because I don’t drink anywhere near enough. But I was just randomly curious whether alcoholic steohepatitis is reversible? Getting a biopsy for possible autoimmune hepatitis - he thinks I may have got from some antibiotics I

B12 Advice please.
Hi All I am still looking for an answer for aching muscles, which I've had for the last 3+ years now, so I've come on this forum. 90% of the aches are in the vastus medialis, as I am a keen cyclist. I am also hypothyroid and on NDT. I am also asthmatic, on seretide. My last 4 Medichecks Active B12 results

2020 and we are still confronted with stigma. Even from some of the medical professionals. (I’m new to the forum).
I had successful treatment for hep. c after second treatment, (48 weeks the first time, 14 weeks the second time) which was about 5 to 6 years ago. The reason I mention stigma is twofold. Firstly I got hep. c through intravenous drug use in the 1960s and 70s. Secondly I suffer from a serious mental

Is everyone with CLL on the UK Government Vulnerable/Shielding List ?
I am 2 years into W&W and still have no symptoms. I was advised in January that it would probably be "many years" before treatment was necessary. The consultant only indicated that I should have my annual flu jab plus one for pneumonia but apart from that just advised me to carry on as normal and to

New study looking at use of flu vaccines in melanoma patients on Keytruda released
This has been a question Wayne and I have posed for 5 years that has some initial data covering actual patients who had at least one dose of pembro over several flu seasons of patient tracking. Good article to share with your docs in advance of the 2020-2021 season: https://www.medpagetoday.com/reading-room

Update on previous post
So just to update my previous post ... I have been informed today that despite having lupus, receiving letter for flu jab and having to get 2 lots of public transport to get to work, I have to get there. NHS Occ Health person said “you are increased risk but are you happy with having to go to work”
