Why am I being tested for Hep B?
I have had Budd Chiari for nearly 14 years, I have a shunt and luckily everything has been going fine since then. I have an app every 6 months for an ultrasound scan, then my outpatient app and bloods taken. I had an appointment yesterday and like normal I was in and out quite quickly as the scan showed

HEP B TREATMENTS
Hi, I saw my doctor today. I have had HEP B for many years. My doctor was only monitoring it. Today he told me that he is very concerned about my ALT levels. He recommend to start antiviral medications now as he is concerned about the cancer risk. I asked him if I will be taking them for the rest of

USP or API sources for different NDT thyroid brands
Hi, I was wondering if anybody has information about which NDT brands use which Desiccated Thyroid Extract (USP or API) sources and where these USP/API sources are manufactured? I am particularly interested to know about Armour, NP and Erfa and even the new brand Adthyza.

High dose Turmeric and links to low ferritin
My ferritin has dropped from 82ug/L (30-150) 4 months ago to 64ug/L (30-264) this week (both Medichecks- Inuvi lab). I’ve been scratching my head to find out why this could be, as my diet hasn’t changed. https://amzn.eu/d/bTWoF2o The only change I’ve made is to increase my usual turmeric dose (which

MTHFR and Lupus
I noticed that some members have both of these diagnosis as well as Sjogrens. No one ever checked my homocysteine level until after I had Complete Heart Block and was implanted with a Pacemaker/defibulator. Sadly Not Just Thyroid Patients
I've been following the infected blood scandal with interest, basically thousands of patients in the 70's, 80's and early 90's were given blood transfusions/ products that were cheaply imported, often from USA, and not screened for Hep C. This was to save the NHS money. Unfortunately many people became

hello there, I’m Steve. I have been living with auto immune liver disease for 20+ years now and I was recommended to join by a social prescriber at my local doctors surgery today! I’m just looking for support from people with autoimmune hepatitis and other liver conditions, who have found it difficult

ANA Negative
My gp sent me for a ANA blood test which came back negative. She has referred me for a rheumatology appointment before the results came back, but I don't want to waste the rheumatology appointment. Has anyone else been diagnosed with a negative blood test?

possible hep c infection
I wonder if anyone can advise me please. My wonderful 76 year old mum was given a blood transfusion after the birth of me 48 years ago. Over the years her blood test has shown slightly elevated bilirubin but no further action was taken, I think we hoped it would be Gilbert’s syndrome. I know she knows

Beta blockers
I'm 68, female with NASH/ Cirrhosis which is compensated. I have recently been prescribed 1.25 mg of Bisoprolol Fumarate (beta blocker) but I'm so anxious about taking it as my GP seemed unsure about any effect on my liver. I was wondering if any members take beta blockers with no ill effects? I'm also

Parathesia
Hi everyone, could the vitamin B6 in a Vitamin B complex tablet (Thorne Basic B Complex to be specific) cause parathesia symptoms and are there any vitamin B complex tablets which do not contain B6? Thanks in advance

Diet and B vitamins
Hello, I take a daily supplement dose of plant based vitamin B12 Complex and try to eat a range of foods that are healthy. I drink alcohol - maybe 5 units four/five times a week and I read that maybe I should take additional B vitamins to cover myself against there being insufficient to counteract this

B vitamins sensitivity ( and B1 therapy?)
I have found that I am very sensitive to B vitamins and I am not able to tolerate taking long term of B - complex or some of its combinations as homocysteine formulas.. What makes me sick is Folic Acid, no matter if methylated or no, I have difficulty to breathe and weakness, heard arhytmias, which vanishes

Help Please!
Things just keep going from bad to worse with me. So sorry for the long post but I really need some help because I don't know what's going on I really don't and I don't know how to try and balance things anymore, it's all beyond me now. Near end April this year I did a full panel, rather than link

Hi, I'm 75 and have just been diagnosed with cerebral small vessel disease. It explains a lot of the symptoms I've been getting over the past few years. Thyroid test results - any thoughts please?
Hi everyone, I’ve had some repeat bloods taken last week. When I posted my last results from Feb this year, it was suggested that they indicated possible central/secondary hypothyroidism and low-ish B12. Can anyone advise me if these latest results are an improvement, or if I should still seek some
