Liver function
I am not a health care person, but I have a little understanding of the liver. It is not like a coffee filter that takes out the bad. It is more like a fine-tuned machine that performs a series of chemical changes resulting in the creation of Glutathione which is a super-antioxidant. This helps eliminate

Lots of flu going around!
My neighbor who is a nurse practitioner told me she has never seen so many flu cases this early in the season. She saw 21 patients on Wednesday and 11 tested positive for the flu. I had putting off the flu shot, wanted to do Covid booster first but she urged me to get my flu shot sooner rather than

Obinutuzumab and Venetoclax
Hi everyone, I start my Obinutuzumab infusion on October 26th. I’ve read most everyone’s experiences on the upcoming treatment. Been quite a help. Put me at ease. my one question with Obinutuzumab is that it’s not weight specific. I’ve always have been in shape with working out and jogging. I was diagnosed

B1 testing
Hi I was wondering if anyone knows of any UK site that provides provide private blood testing for the B vitamins - B1 in particular? I have looked, but only seem to find ones that test for B12 and B9 only. If not, what do you do if you suspect a B1 deficiency, but the GP is reluctant to run tests

Theories on Stress and B12
Hi all I've seen a few questions on the forum around the relationship between stress and B12. I think this is a very interesting area. On the one hand, B-Vitamins are well-known to support the body during times of stress. In many ways this makes sense because our bodies run on essential vitamins and

Malignant Hypertension episode
Hi I’ve had PAF for around 6 years, last episode a couple of years ago. I take Eliquis twice daily, with no ill effects and bisoprolol 2.5mg daily. A week ago I had my Pfizer booster jab. Shingles vaccine
I know this has been discussed several times and is covered in FAQs so I apologise for raising it again. Last year I was told by my GP practice not to have the shnigels vaccine because it was live and I was considered immunosuppressed being on 5mg of pred. This year they say it's safe for me to have

Latest thyroid bloods & iron panel…
I’ve just got my latest bloods back and this confirms I need to reduce my Levothyroxine. It’s a similar result to last time and shows my T4 to be too high. I was on 150mcg T4 only: TSH: 0.005 Free thyroxine: 33.5 (12-22) Free T3: 5.88 (3.1-6.8] Previous bloods from mid July tell the same story…

Evusheld-Flu-Covid Injections In Two Weeks Timeframe
15 days ago, I received my second round of Evusheld. It had been 6 months since my first round of injections and the effectiveness was wearing down. Yesterday, I went to my nearby HEB grocery pharmacy and received the "senior" flu shot in my left arm and the new Moderna Covid shot in my right arm.
