Live shingles vaccine or not?
I would appreciate your guidance on the importance of which kind of shingles vaccine to have, i.e. live or not? I am on medication for GCA, 5.5mg Prednisolone, plus Levothyroxine, Bisoprolol, Amlodipine, Rosuvastatin, Ursodeoxycholic Acid, Famotidine, Losartan. With many thanks.

ferritin and Levo dose
Guidance please. GP did a blood test including iron as was feeling tired, cold and shaky. Currently on 100 Levo. I never have changed brand and always do a test 9am without medication within 24 hrs beforehand etc. These are results ; no t3 tested for some reason but historically has always been in range

My Condition and OP - Update.
Hello all. Was having a lie-in this morning - The phone rang and it was the urology waiting list people. I was informed my op to see if the BCG treatment had worked or not, is scheduled for the 8th of October. I doubt very much the BCG will have worked - I think my urology/oncology nurse thinks

Vitamin B complex
Hello I am hypothyroid, take 75 or 100mcg levothyroxine daily. I started out a couple of years ago with some vitamin tests that showed low vitamin D & low folate. I supplemented with D3/K2 & methyl folate & felt well. I would occasionally use the Better You B12 spray for good measure. This week I switched

Syringe
A recently change of my biologic arrived requiring syringe application where previous biologic was via pen applicator which was easy and fine to self administer.Administering the first dose of new biologic was awkward and unpleasant to do with its longer needle and pushing the plunger with a swollen

Hello, I have not been diagnosed with kidney disease, and actually do not think that what I have is primarily kidney disease - although the kidneys seem to be involved. I am posting my story here (or, some of it - since it is quite long and involved) in case anyone may have some advice for me, or if

Blood tests ahead of endo appt
NHS referral still pending ("on the waiting list") so am paying to see one of the consultants privately in the mean time. Latest blood test results from Wednesday last week (all done before 9am, fasting, etc etc). My TSH has increased from last medichecks blood test in February, while T4 has dropped

Flu season here!
Hello folks, I'm interested to know if long term ME sufferers end up with a totally weird immunity. I'm in my early 70's, developed ME following viral pneumonia in my 30's, then over a decade later discovered I also had Hashimoto's thyroiditis (am on thyroxine).I've managed to dodge Covid even though

Vitamin B complex before blood tests
I know that you should stop any b vitamin supplements for 3-7 days before a thyroid test due to the biotin but does this apply to other blood tests. GP wants me to do some blood tests next week for iron etc and wondering if I should stop the b complex before. TIA

Got a cold during first trimester.
I got a cold last Wed and I recovered now. I didn't have a fever, just initially sore throat, coughing, blocked nose. I recovered now. I am strong in normal time, however, since I got pregnant become weaker. I worry catching a cold any impact on my pregnancy, especially during first trimester? Can

paradoxical B12 deficiency. Might this be my problem? Anybody know how to treat?
Hello, I’m wondering if this might be the answer to some of my lingering symptoms some of which are neurological. I’ve always had high levels of B12 in all my Medichecks blood tests. I’ve been hypo for decades and have now settled on 40mcg of T3 split over 2 doses daily and test twice a year. I have

Six Months later - upcoming meeting with my MD (input needed)
[lab tests are from October 2022] So, it is 6 months later and things were going well on 0.075mg Synthroid (75 mcg) and 15 mcg Cytomel divided over 3 daily doses. I have been diligent with supplementing iron using a heme polypeptide every second day, alternating with zinc w/ copper and of course taking

Ambroxol
Would anyone share if you have participated in a clinical trial using the drug Ambroxol for PD? There have been several clinical trials which have published encouraging resusts, mostly in the UK. I am not formally in a trial but have been duplicating the dosage for about 12 months. My experience is favorable

Shingles vaccine
My wife was refused the shingles vaccine by her GP as she wasn't old enough (not over 70) we asked for it a year after she had shingles which she really suffered from and still has a bit of discomfort from. Has any MPN patients been refused because of their age?

Hi everyone! so I recently had a therapy session in which my therapist said that low vitamin d levels can cause anxiety attacks and depression? I don’t know if I believe that’s I am low on vitamin b and d and took those vitamins on and off and don’t recall them helping me. Anyone feel better after

Help in interpreting results
I want to first thank everyone who posts and replies on here. This has been a mine of information for me and I greatly appreciate the time and effort from all. I have recently had full blood test through Blue Horizon and would be grateful for help in interpreting them. I currently take 125mcg levothyroxine

Vitamin supplements
I currently take evening primrose capsules and vitamin D tablets together late afternoon (primrose includes vitamin E). Is it better to separate these or to take with food? They both have added incipients. Should I be looking for natural vitamins instead? Also, I have purchased some Liposomal vitamin
