hello there, I’m Steve. I have been living with auto immune liver disease for 20+ years now and I was recommended to join by a social prescriber at my local doctors surgery today!

I’m just looking for support from people with autoimmune hepatitis and other liver conditions, who have found it difficult to live with!

Howdy, welcome aboard. My hubby sadly has auto immune related liver disease which had progressed all the way to cirrhosis before we even knew he was ill. He was diagnosed in April 2012 and has very much ridden the roller coaster that is life with liver disease, he's currently not in a very good state of health at all and is awaiting liver transplant.

If you have AIH and want to join a community of around 4000 other AIH Patients and their lived ones there is a fabulous group on Facebook who are at all stages of their AIH life. Very supportive, great place to rant freely, it is a closed group so no one else on your Facebook feed can see what you share there. Group is supported by many of the top doctors in the UK who are working in AIH treatment and research.

Find the group at:- facebook.com/groups/AIHorgUK

Thank you for the nice reply, I’m sorry that your husband has auto immune liver disease and has ridden the life rollercoaster. I’ll check that group out right now!

Take care Katie.

Hi Steve,

Welcome to the forum! At the British Liver Trust, we facilitate a range of virtual support groups for people living with a liver condition (and their families and carers), including specific groups for those with genetic/auto immune conditions.

If you are in the UK and would find it helpful to speak to others with shared experience, you can register to join a group here - britishlivertrust.org.uk/vi...

Best wishes
