Hi everyone, could the vitamin B6 in a Vitamin B complex tablet (Thorne Basic B Complex to be specific) cause parathesia symptoms and are there any vitamin B complex tablets which do not contain B6? Thanks in advance

Parathesia
I know B6 can cause problems but only in high doses I think.
Perhaps stop them and see if this symptoms improve.
I tried B6 separately for a short trial.
1 bottle. Took one every other day
Holland snd Barret .
100mg pyridoxine.
I didn't seem to react one way of the other.
My nervous system was / is very affected
This was after a B complex for some reason ag the time i felt wrong for me.
May havd been thd folic acid dose in it ??
It seems to contain a safe form of B6, and only 10 mg.
"Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxal 5'-Phosphate) 10mg"
There are several kinds of B6. Supplements often contain the form pyridoxine. But this P5P-form (Pyridoxal 5'-Phosphate) is, I've read, safer. Apparently, large doses of pyridoxine may block the action of P5P (which is the active form) and that's why high doses of pyridoxine may cause exactly the same symptoms as B6 deficiency.
You are correct. It is pyridoxine that is an issue at 500mg per day over a years time. Symptoms resolve when the pyridoxine is discontinued.
I find it possible that the issue may be pyridoxine without other supplements causes the issues.
P-5-P reduces peripheral neuropathy for me. At 6 mg per day I only experience minor pain with some flare ups and those seem to be on the wane.
It is possible for the myelin sheath to regenerate provided the correct supplements are taken.
It is a common misconception the the myelin sheath covers the nerves like an extension cord insulation. In fact it is a protective layer of fat (lipids) that covers each nerve cell (neurons. This layer of fat has gaps that allow the electrical impulses to pass and function as intended.
I would be extremely cautious about taking any form of B6 at a multiple of the NHS recommended limit of 10mg/day over a prolonged period. I took 100mg of the pyridoxine (PN) form probably for about six months, reducing to 50mg for a further eight months and began to experience some mild effects of toxicity around the ten month mark that slowly diminished after I stopped supplementation at that level a few months later. I've since tried 100mg of the pyridoxal 5′-phosphate (PLP) form but just a single capsule still causes the toxicity symptoms to re-occur.
This is the B complex that I take which doesn’t have B6 (I add it separately).

However, I had previously been advised to take 2 month breaks from B6 and this time I only managed a month before getting a return of B12 symptoms, which got better almost immediately after restarting. 🤷♀️I’m not sure if it was COVID related but I’m currently experimenting with 10mg B6 on injection days and a much smaller amount of the active form on other days.
