putting down the burden
I have been practising albeit a bit as hoc putting things weighing me down into an imaginary bag and putting the heavy burden of that bag down. Knowing it’s still mine and I can retreive it should I want to at any time. I know this sounds simplistic but I simply couldn’t live with carrying it all around

Seeing an MPN Specialist tomorrow!
I have an appointment at Stanford with an MPN Specialist tomorrow. Going on 5 years with ET+CALR and currently taking aspirin and 2 pills of Hydrea daily AND 90mcg of Pegasys once a week. We are in a transitional period right now and I will eventually just be taking Pegasys and aspirin. Took my 4th dose

I'm somewhat gobsmacked!
Just had phone call from local hospital. ( This is a bank holiday Sunday Morning by the way ) inviting me to drop in any time before 4.00pm for a chest X-Ray. 😯I saw the Spirometry nurse on Tuesday for a follow up to a test I had in November regarding Asthma? and she referred me. I was expecting to

Levothyroxine for Underactive thyroid
I cannot tolerate Levothyroxine and wondered what other options are available to me. I have not taken any medications for nearly five years now. I also have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. I am confused what symptoms are connected with Hypothyroidism and what can be attributed

Microcystic Edema in glaucoma patient
Hi, my mother has had microcystic edema in both eyes discovered. Have been told there is a possibility that taking Xalatan drops could be connected. Wondered if anyone else has this condition and any talk of these drops being linked to it? Thanks.

Trabeculectomy and theme parks
I had a trab done in one eye following trauma induced high IOP last June. Pressures have been stable since November at around 14.I'm going to a theme park soon (Disney Paris - very excited!) - does anyone know if there are restrictions on roller-coasters with trabs? I'm going with kids, so won't be doing

It's too much. All the medical procedures. Homesick. Getting into hospital on Monday
For my nose not mental health. But it's one hell of a time booking it all, going through all kinds of proffesionals. In Bulgaria something hurts you, you go to doc 1 , they send you to doc 2, they send you to doc 3, they send you to tests. You end up either okay or hospitalised or worse from all those

Suppressed TSH and new chest pain
Hello dear people, Here’s the short version: I’m having chest pain with a suppressed TSH, so I think the doctors will want to lower my meds when I’m actually feeling more hypo than hyper. Does anyone have any advice? I so appreciate the people here! The picture above is my last thyroid bloodwork

question for those with sight loss…….
can I ask of those that have experienced sight loss, has this been since your GCA diagnosis (and possibly already getting treatment) or was it part of the problem(s) that made you seek help….if you get what I mean ? I have had a “lazy” eye since birth, with limited vision (can’t see in detail) the other

Mild Sjogrens? Is that a thing?
I've googled it and I still have no idea. Lots of cross over symptoms with thyroid but I've started pondering on my dry eyes and mouth. Neither are dry to the point of pain but my husband has noticed I've developed an eye 'tic'. I'm sort of rolling my eyes and opening my eyes wide; I've realised

Trab after failed shunt
Hello. This is my first post so please bear with me. About a year ago I had a shunt inserted which I thought would be an end to my problems. After a lot of delayed appointments my IOP has started to creep back up, and my doctor has suggested a trab. My next visit is in 6 months, which I think is

timing of your medication monitoring blood tests
good morning all and thank you all for your kind and caring responses to my previous question. My query today is: has anyone ever found that having a blood test close to methotrexate day (or within two weeks of having a wee Drinkie…) impacts the liver reading? I normally ensure this doesn’t happen

Bright yellow urine, Flank pain, Flakes in urine
Hello, I have not been diagnosed with kidney disease, and actually do not think that what I have is primarily kidney disease - although the kidneys seem to be involved. I am posting my story here (or, some of it - since it is quite long and involved) in case anyone may have some advice for me, or if

Glaucoma - dealing with glare.
Hello, I was diagnosed several years ago. I use Monoprost drops in my right eye and had a trab in my left a few years ago. Left is getting worse slowly, right is quietly developing a cataract. I'm also bothered by blepharitis, dry eye and being aged 73 - lol. In other words, nothing unusual going on.
