Microcystic Edema in glaucoma patient

Hi, my mother has had microcystic edema in both eyes discovered. Have been told there is a possibility that taking Xalatan drops could be connected.

Wondered if anyone else has this condition and any talk of these drops being linked to it?

Thanks.

yes, I had the same thing. After stopping these drops for a month, my condition totally resolved itself. I understand it is very rare but it is worth asking your consultant for an alternative drop to see if this resolves it.

Thank you for responding. Due to her glaucoma being advanced, they don't want to do any further procedures but have not advised her to stop using them. Just keep observing if there are any changes in vision and will assess again in 6 months.

Hello Lionella. I have not come across this before and will find out about. Hopefully, your mother's eye specialist has changed her eye drop to a different one. It is encouraging to know that Floaters symptoms disappeared after a month, once they stopped the drops.
