Avocado and pre-diabetes
A friend of mine has been classified as pre-diabetic. The nurse has given her a diet sheet of a healthy diet for pre-diabetes and diabetics. On the sheet it mentions that avocados should be restricted. I believe that avocados do not spike blood sugar so what would be the reason behind its restriction

Now I'm diabetic too?
Hello all. I'm now down to 5mg prednisolone after 2 years of PMR and trying hard to reduce on DSNS. I've put on a good stone on top of what was already an overweight body. I read with interest the other day of a forum member who had great success with the blood sugar diet. I read up on it and thought

The 12 week plan & an introduction
Hi, I have decided enough is enough of fad diets and want to give the 12 week plan a go. I am 40 and am classed as obese. It's time to stop kidding myself and hold myself accountable. About 12 years ago I was just within my healthy weight range at 10 stone and was pretty happy and felt good about myself

How did you do it?
Someone asked me how I've managed to lose my weight on one of the other threads. I thought it might help others to share my response, and also for you to see my weight loss graph to see that it wasn't all plain sailing! (1) February 2012 Joined an on-line weightloss website (www.weightlossresources

MY STRANGE LIPID PROFILE!
I had my blood work done a few days ago and all the results came out within the normal range except for SERUM LDL CHOLESTEROL which registered 46.6 mg/dl. I understand the normal range is 100 to 120 mg/dl. I asked the doctor if this wasn't abnormal and he said it wasn't and congratulated me on the low

Type 2 Diabetes & Hashis
I have been posting a lot this week, but wanted to share this. I have been treated for Type 2 Diabetes for about 4 years, with Metformin. I was originally on two doses of 500mg a day (1,000mg), which my Dr increased to 2000mg a day last year. I found out this week that my B12 is insufficient and that

Possible Adrenaline Rushes While Tapering Depo-Medrol
As many readers are aware, I began a weekly regimen of depo-medrol injections for PMR in late August of 2016. See my 3 month old post: “Depo-Medrol Injections for the Treatment of PMR”. My initial maintenance dose was 80 mg per week which resulted in a steroid pulse that began at 20 mg on the day

Channel 4’s How to Lose Weight Well - Peanut Butter Diet
A couple of day's ago I was surprised to see how effective the Peanut Butter Diet was. http://www.express.co.uk/life-style/diets/752960/peanut-butter-diet I also did some online research into this diet and it looks like it may even be beneficial for heart health as it boosts 'good' cholesterol. https

Just wont budge!
Ok, so June 2015 I was 21.5 stone and decided to fix it. 12 months later I was down to 13 stone, 8.5 gone. Yay me! Right? Since then I have stuck to my calorie restricted diet, I am still walking and exercising at home but I cant seem to shift these wobbly bits. I am now almost 14 stone which I think
