Kidney function/NSAIDs
Hi, I am sitting here panicking and worrying. Along with 20mg injection weekly of MTX, 10mg daily pred, 4 types of BP meds, omeprazole, 6 days of folic acid, co-codomal I also take 90mg daily of arcoxia (enterocoxib or something to give it its proper name!). My eGfR (kidney function) is down to 32

Hello. I haven't posted for a while so I thought I'd give you all a quick update. After changing GPs, I finally managed to get referred to rheumatology but the rheumatologist refused the referral because my blood tests showed slightly raised urate levels. Although my GP agreed with me that I didn't have

Information needed on theophylline / Phyllocontin.
Information needed on theophylline / Phyllocontin. Does it interact with other drugs.? It is often mentioned as "tell your Dr if you are taking ...." on drug information leaflets. Is it compatible with clarithromycin?

Dispersible Aspirin 75mg tablets
My doctor has put me on these in additon to Fenofibrate. On the leaflet with the tablets it states "Refrain from alcohol when taking these tablets" By no means am I a drinker, but I do like a glass of wine with meals and maybe a couple of pints at the weekend. Does this mean I can no longer do this?

Drugs advice for Type III Hyperlipoproteinaemia.
I have recently been diagnosed with the above after genetic testing (I am 51 year old female.) I am otherwise fit, slim and healthy but have ridiculous levels of cholesterol, though the ratios are good. I am reluctantly beginning to see the ned for medication and discussions are beginning. The possibilities

I am in such agony with gout again. The 4th time this year. Each time it gets worse and nothing is helping. If I shot myself in the foot it
would have to be less painful. I had my uric acid levels checked - they were normal. I can't stop crying today. Does anyone else have this problem?

To blog or not to blog that is the question?
Or should it be what to blog and what not to blog, now that really is the question! So much has happened since my last blog back in March so I will do a quickie synopsis of what I’ve been up to. I got a lovely welcome from the East Dorset group in April when I popped down to Christchurch then it was

What the .....
I started with a flare up yesterday, which is the first I've had in months. I wasn't too worried as I just take a few more mg of pred and it calms down again, but it didn't happen this time.....??? lasted all day and got worse, and I was at work, which means I couldn't do much as I work with the elderly
