I have recently been diagnosed with the above after genetic testing (I am 51 year old female.) I am otherwise fit, slim and healthy but have ridiculous levels of cholesterol, though the ratios are good. I am reluctantly beginning to see the ned for medication and discussions are beginning. The possibilities are fibrates and statins, but I would welcome the experience of others with this condition.

Hi Traci, Thanks for replying. It's good to know that there is someone else in the same boat. I have been seeing a chemical pathologist so far and he has been making the diagnosis. I'm not sure if this is the right sort of consultant when it comes to prescribing. Who do you see?
