i have been taking them for about 4 years now!

i notice the difference BIGTIME if i run out of them - i have put on weight but doctor says its due to the steroids but it could also be down to the theophylline - i don't know if you are aware but they can also make your heart beat faster.

I took them and they made a difference but I had just had an operation on my lung so

I am an a seperate meds list from the hospital and meds will be reviewed in a few weeks time when I see the consultant.

I take them and noticed the difference when increased them to 750mg.Asthma worse now but got see cardiologist as think heart problem also.xxx

I walk 2 to 3 miles a day and am about a lb short off being overweight so i would sooner not carry extra weight as we know it makes breathing harder so the benefit could be minimal i only know what i have read in the information and know they have covered all the bases ie could cause to put on weight or lose weight thankyou all for information

I've been on them for a few years now, and its the one thing I wouldnt like to be without. I forgot to take it once ,and boy did I notice the difference. Yes I have put on weight, but it could be steroids or any medication.

I have been on them now for 12 years for my COPD and take one every 12 hours I get very great benefit from them as far as I am aware they do not cause you to gain weight, but you do need to have an annual blood test to ensure that they do not cause any kidney problems!

Apart from them I have all the usual optimum drugs Spiriva (on which I am on a trial of 2 a day,for years I have been on one a day!) Seretide, Salbutamol etc and 24 hour Oxygen.

So I would reccomend them although higher doses can cause faster heartbeat.

Hope you feel better soon.

I used to take them late 80s early 90s, was taken off them because of the dangerous side effects.A consultant at hospital wanted me to take them again but my asthma nurse said they were too dangerous to prescribe and could cause heart problems. When I took them they gave me a feeling of euphoria and I had difficulty sleeping
