Metformin - how long should it take to work?
I have been prescribed 750mg morning and night To treat insulin resistance and the extreme hypoglycaemia and fatigue suffering and weight gain I've not noticed any change in symptoms a week in, how quickly should I notice changes?

Hello, I am 34 years old, and was finding it hard to get pregnant, so went to docs and they started investigating and said weight is a big factor. So I joined a Free NHS weight loss club called "My Weight Matters" local to me. I started out at 23 stone, and now 19.1 stone, but really struggling to lose

28 woman with a hubby who has severe low count. ICSI referral last week and feeling in total shock.
My hubby is 31 and had only 20,000 sperm in his analysis results last week. I have mild PCOS however after months on 1500mg of Metformin I ovulate myself and my tubes are clear. We were told we had 0.5% chance of natural conception and having read the live birth success rate of ICSI it's only around

Preds and diabetes 2.
Had appt with diabetes nurse today. Good news bp ok but glucose levels 93 (11) After flare up 2 months ago I've reduced from 20mcg to 17mcg pred. Have agreed to see Endocrinologist but there's a long wait for appt. Tomorrow I'll start reducing carbs and hopefully this will help - don't want to

Protein in Urine.
I am diabetic for 35 years. my Bliod sugar satisfactorily maintained. Except for few fluctuations. Medication is Glimepride 1 mg in the morning. If the reading is unfavorable Metformin 500 mg added before bed. Otherwise, FBs below 115 And PP 140-180. Now the latest test shows protein +30 in urine

Always had irregular periods and was put on metformin

Parkinson's disease
I am new here & was diagnosed with PD 2 years ago after experiencing balance problems; I fell down our steps twice & received 2 mild concussions. My neurologist prescribed several meds (Sinemet, etc.) but I couldn't take them due to severe nausea and hallucinations. I now use 2 mg Neupro transdermal

If B12 cannot be boosted by diet, can folate tablets be absorbed by the body?
I have B12 def and it is believed to be caused by long term use of metformin. It seems my body cannot get the required B12 from diet, so I have injections. But I've seen on forums that B12 is not effective without folate or folic acid. I have no prescription for these. If I buy and swallow tablets

Antagonist protocol and metformin
Hi all! Had our first ever IVF consultation today and was told I'll be on the antagonist protocol which is a short one, about 2 weeks. Never heard of it - have any of you been on this? It's to stop ovulation. I've also got to pay for a prescription of metformin, and take 3 tablets a day, until early

I hope that you can give some advise....my husband is type 2 diabetic, as you can imagine it is playing havoc with his health. He is taking Metformin which makes him feel ill most of the time( lethargic, bloating, upset stomach). I was wondering what enzymes could help him? Thank you in anticipation
