I hope that you can give some advise....my husband is type 2 diabetic, as you can imagine it is playing havoc with his health. He is taking Metformin which makes him feel ill most of the time( lethargic, bloating, upset stomach).

I was wondering what enzymes could help him?

Thank you in anticipation !

Has your husband got thyroid disease?

Susie33,

If your husband has only just started taking Metformin he may find symptoms improve after a few weeks. There are alternatives to Metformin but I think they may all cause adverse effects. Google "alternatives to Metformin" or ask for help on healthunlocked.com/drwfdiab...

...he's been taking them for nearly 2 years , he's currently on the slow release ones.

Susie33,

Perhaps ask your GP about alternatives then.

Is he following the NHS recommended diet of low fat and high carb? If so I recommend trying the opposite : high fat,low carb.. After being diagnosed I took this route and was no longer diabetic three months later.

I decided on trying to control with diet not metformin.

I think your right. I'll get him on that. Metformin has some terrible side effects.
