I have PCOS and am about 10lbs overweight. The doctor suggested Metformin. Wondering what others think of taking Metformin for PCOS and weight loss

There are differing opinions on metformin as it is primarily a diabetes drug, I am quite surprised you have been given it as 10lb is not much to lose. Generally the side effects can be awful. If you are insulin resistant then it can help but not all pcos ladies are. Look at the answer to pcos book as it is the only one I consistently lost weight on easily and have kept it off (I did the diet about 10 years ago).

I wouldn't take it unless you have a high glucose level or your sugar is all over the place. I took it for a while which helped my fatigue because my sugar was all over the place. I then started eating whole foods and no refined sugar and lost about 40 pounds and I'm now off Metformin
