Menopause
Has anyone had the experience of raised BP and sugar levels as a result of being in the menopause? I am on Metformin and Jardiance and I eat carefully such as low carbs and sugar. I do have a sweet tooth so have to curb this which is of course tricky. I exercise regularly but my blood count still remains

Effects of metformin and statins on outcomes in men with castration-resistant metastatic prostate cancer
New international study, below [1]. "Secondary analysis of COU-AA-301 and COU-AA-302" [2] & [3].
Objective:
To determine whether metformin or statins ± abiraterone acetate plus prednisone/prednisolone (AAP) influence OS {overall survival} and PSA-RR {prostate specific antigen response rate}.

Rank Neutraceuticals / Off-Label Drugs By Most Likely Most Beneficial
I'm curious about the opinions of members here on how they would currently rank Neutraceutical and off-label use drugs in order of highest benefit potential (most confirming clinical trial evidence combined with actual therapeutic or synergistic therapeutic effect) in slowing/stopping PCa progression

Current Consensus on Metformin and Berberine?
I've been studying Metformin (not Berberine, yet). My conclusion reading all the latest studies, especially the large meta-studies, is that evidence is weak on Metformin having a significant positive effect BY ITSELF. There appears to be significant evidence it has a positive effect when used synergistically

Having a bit of a trying time.
Hello - the last few days have been not so good - no energy or motivation and this morning I had my breakfast and felt so sick afterwards I had to go back to bed. It has been slowly going downhill for a few days now.My biggest worry is that this all points to kidney function and the dialysis question

Just Diagnosed type 2, feeling a bit downhearted!
Having been told 3 years ago that I was pre diabetic I made as many changes to my diet and lifestyle (other health conditions and covid permitting) to try and avoid progressing to the "I am diabetic" status but today I have been told I am diabetic, steroid induced. My doctor prescribed gliclazide in

Salmon Protein Hydrolysate
New study below [1]. Anyone here using
Salmon Protein Hydrolysate
? FWIW: "A growing body of evidence implicates iron dysmetabolism in prostate cancer progression. A bioactive peptide-rich salmon protein hydrolysate (SPH) has previously been demonstrated to modulate iron homeostatic mechanisms.

Whether to push for a diagnosis
Hello All, my first post and I'm afraid it will be a long one but perhaps someone has had similar experiences and can help. I am male and 53 years old. I’ve had a diagnosis of Raynaud’s since my teens. Over the last ten years or so I developed visible red veins on the backs of my hands, forearms, feet

Inhibition of Stearoyl-CoA Desaturase by Sterculic Oil Reduces Proliferation and Induces Apoptosis in Prostate Cancer Cells
Prostate cancer (PCa) is a common type of cancer affecting male population. PCa treatments have side effects and are temporarily effective, so new therapeutic options are being investigated. Due to the high demand of energy for cell proliferation, an increase in the expression and activity of lipogenic

Natural metformin alternatives
I know that some of you take metformin. I read that it comes from a natural ingredient called French lilac, also known as Goat's Rue. It is in other plants as well. Has anyone taken any of those natural forms instead of metformin? Thanks.

Getting the most out of Radiation: Radiosensitizers
This is my season for more radiation treatments. This coming week I will have 5 SBRT treatments in 5 days to two newly identified small lymph nodes found on my latest PSMA scan. One in the right pelvis (external iliac) and the other in the abdomen near the celiac plexus. The latter now makes my "officially

Any Strategies For Controlling Blood Sugar While Taking Thyroid Meds
I am not a diabetic. Before having my thyroidectomy my glucose levels never rose above 82. Controlling by morning blood sugars have been especially difficult, maybe due to taking the meds at 6am while the "Dawn Effect" is still present. Do anyone exercise in the mornings before taking their meds

New Data: Finasteride Safely Prevents Prostate Cancer'These Results Are Transformational,' Says Researcher May 20, 2018
But: "Who uses it today? Almost nobody." "We have answered the questions and closed the book." As reported in 2003, the risk for prostate cancer over the initial 7-year study period was 25% lower with finasteride than with placebo. That risk reduction now "goes out to 16 years, at least," (unlike ADT

Hello!
Hi everyone, I’m a T1D and was diagnosed at age 26yrs. I was originally misdiagnosed as T2D by my GP and started on metformin. Although it worked for a while, I became progressively sicker and was later referred into the hospital for support. Like many people, I manage my diabetes with a combination

Anyone tried Berberine?
I think this is the wrong place to post, but not sure where to as it's both related to PCOS, T1D, Insulin resistance and Infertility, some of which are related/conditioned by Hashi.. So, basically was researching recently and discovered that Berberine may have very positive effects (in some studies

What do you think about: “Metformin Use Linked to Increased Dementia, Parkinson's Risk in Patients With Diabetes” https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/877965. With NMN, niacin or NR I feel a slight tingling sensation inside my head which I take as my brain being energized, but metformin causes me to
