I take glyburide for type 2 diabetes. I recently switched pharmacies and my new pharmacist was surprised I was taking this medication as I have stage 4 ckd. However, my doctor doesn't seem concerned. Should I be worried that this medication could further hurt my kidneys. Thank you.

I would talk to my doctor about what the pharmacist said. All medication goes through either the kidneys or the liver. They all have side effects which you MIGHT have. Doctors usually know best. Is your doctor a primary or nephrologist?
Definitely check with your nephrologist and tell him what pharmacist said. I imagine a lot of medication can be harmful to the kidneys, but it may be the lesser of two evils. Nevertheless, consult with your kidney doctor and your PCP. We all have to advocate all the time for ourselves.
