Metformin and Levothyroxine
Just read an article about Metformin and levothyroxine in the Thyroid UK newsletter. Apparently levothyroxine can interfere with blood glucose levels but does T3 or NDT do this too or is it just levothyroxine? I take Metformin but I am on T3 only. At some time in the future I hope to introduce some

Finally, GP recognizes diabet
My last A1c was 6.6, previous one 8 or 9, can't remember, but my GP refused to accept it or my high plasma glucose level, saying there must have been a mistake! After 2 years, (last October) my local hospital insisted I take a pre diabetic test independent of the GP which showed I was diabetic.

A study material in respect of LCHF
It is believed that low-carbohydrate diets work best in reducing weight when producing ketosis.1 We report on a 51-year-old white woman who does not have diabetes but had ketoacidosis while consuming a “no-carbohydrate” diet. There was no family history of diabetes, and she was not currently taking any

Adrenal problem / T3 problem? A dismissive private endo :-(
I had Graves, then RAI, then hypo since 1990, and pretty stable on thyroxine. But I've felt rough for over a year, had overactive symptoms eg exhaustion, fast heart rate, GP thought T4 a bit high, so reduced from 175, to 100 in the end. Felt very ill! Then discovered Vit D extremely low, it's now at

HYPO - In trying to control this syndrome all of us should be aware of the likely role that Caffeine plays in Glucose/Insulin balance:
Caffeinated drinks can cause problems controlling glucose in adolescents APA 04 Dec 15 Study showed that consumption of caffeinated drinks caused increase of glucose and insulin levels over several hours. Adolescents who consume caffeinated energy drinks may experience an increase of insulin

T3 dose increase?
I currently take 150 mcg T4 and 10 mcg T3 daily, the former in the morning and the latter before bed. I've not had any bloodwork done since I upped my T3 dose about 8 weeks ago; my GP pretty much leaves me to get on with it. However, I am feeling increasingly tired (in a way not seen outside a three-week
