Genital herpes
I found out I have hsv2 recently. I've been using aciclovir whenever I have an outbreak. Is there anything I can be doing to prevent outbreaks from happening? Would it also be beneficial to let my body fight it rather than antiviral a and let the immunity build itself up? Thanks

Aldara cream or herpes?
I recently went to my local STI clinic because of a little bump I found just next to the entrance to my vagina. The nurse told me it was a genital wart and I had a couple more inside, which she froze. She gave me aldara/imiquimod cream to put on the outside. A week later, I shaved down there in order

Post FCR - stopping Aciclovir
I finished FCR just over 3 months ago. I actually only had 5 sessions as I had responded so well. For the first 6 weeks or so, I was on cloud nine, but then all my muscles started aching. I felt like an old woman when getting out of bed in the morning, or getting up from a chair. My GP said lots

Is this thyroid related?
Hello all, Not sure if you'll be able to help with this one. I was diagnosed with hashimotos a few years back, it's under control at the moment. I've been seeing an immunologist because I have recurring shingles outbreaks on my shoulder and back (for at least 12 years, I used to get it once a year but

Lump in right groin
Hi all, So I had a rough week last week with my endo and felt quite poorly. I noticed on Sunday I had a strange sore/itchy bumps on my right labia and it looked swollen so I went to the doctor yesterday (Monday) and she said she thinks it is shingles or hepes but it was too early of a stage to tell

HSV and pregnancy
Hi, I got diagnosed with HSV about 2 years ago and suffer from outbreaks every now and then, which normally are gone within 2-3 days. I don't take any anti viral drugs when it's not that bad because I think my body can then better built up antibodies. I got ill with a flu over Christmas and after not

Lupus, Shingles and Acyclovir
Last month, I had my 4th bout of Shingles in the last 4 years. I once again took the Acyclovir prescribed. After two days I developed a nasty case of Tonsillitis. I had no other symptoms, no cold etc, so I was prescribed Antibiotics. I stopped taking the Acyclovir as I couldn't swallow them (they are

Cold sores and Orencia
Hi, can I ask if anyone has suffered with cold sores when taking Orencia (Abatacept)? I got 5 after taking my 2nd weekly injection, 2 up my nose (ouch) and 3 around my mouth. I've not taken Orencia for 3 weeks now, waiting for sores to clear up. GP gave me a course of Aciclovir tablets and they are slowly

Genital Herpes
Hello everyone, I've just been diagnosed with herpes after 4 days of utter pain. I went to the doctors and started my treatment but god I feel awfully in pain. I'm mortified to have it, my boyfriend has had cold sores and obviously not thought that he could transmit through oral sex... anyone recommends

recurrence of viral meningitis
Hi, I am new to posting! I first had VM in 2014 and spent a week in hospital where I had a lumber puncture to confirm diagnosis. For several months I had headaches and tingling in my legs. Apart from tiredness my recovery was not too bad. About a month ago I started having back pain and headaches.

Starting Ibrutinib
Hello all, I've been w&w for 6 years and now have several bothersome nodes, severe fatigue and labs are indicating CLL progression. Due to my non-mutated status the doctors at MDA gave me the choice of ibrutinib, or a trial of ibrutinib w/ venetoclax. I opted for the ibrutinib alone and will start
