Slow and steady today
Last Wednesday, I developed really painful shin splints so I was unable to run or even walk properly for a few days. I wore my more comfortable trainers today and felt determined to do another 30 minute run but at a steady pace. My calves were quite painful at the beginning but the pain gradually reduced

What helped my ferritin - hopefully helps someone :)
Hey there, I've decided to share some good news! I have tried everything to increase my ferritin, it was always a bit low in range. I have tested in September 2019 and it was 52 (13-150) which is about 28% of range. I was already happy with it because previously it had been even lower. I went for tests

So I finally got my blood results. Dr hadn’t added transferrin saturation to the test but I managed to get the nurse to add it when I went in for the bloods. Ferritin 91 Transferrin saturation 19.9 Now on 400mg of iron daily & a referral to movement clinic. Are there likely to be options to help me get

Getting off Gabapentin
Has anyone here found that Gabapentin loses its effectiveness? When I started taking gabapentin before my infusion and it really did help. It stopped my legs and helped me sleep. Now, I don’t think it is working and I want off of gabapentin When I started, I quickly went up to 1800mg a day, gabapentin

Not run for 2 weeks but couldn’t resist this morning.wk8r1✔️
Well I was going to try to wait until Monday’s physio session but this morning I just couldn’t resist the little patch of sunshine. And I tried out a friends advice. She has also been suffering with one sore hip and her dad asked her if she always did the same route. She said usually and he said maybe

Magnesium
When I read Carolyn Dean's book The Magnesium Miracle, it was with an eye to osteoporosis and I didn't really pay much attention to magnesium's corrective role even in inflammation and other disorders. Now I'm reading the 3rd edition (read 2nd edition before) and although I'm not far into it I think

When to take supplements
I take so many supplements now I'm confused if I'm taking them that at the right time or if they would work better along-side another. My most recent blood tests are as below: I've got a feeling my dr is going to try and reduce my levo due to the TSH. TSH 0.15 miu/L (0.27 - 4.5) T4 20.9 pmol/L (11 -

Help for neuropathy in foot
Can anyone give me ideas on how I can help the neuropathy in my foot? I have trapped nerves in my back which causes more problems in my foot than anywhere else and was diagnosed with neuropathy a few years ago. I usually only experience cramps in my toes and general pain and tingling in my foot.

Best Iron Supplement to up Iron & Ferritin levels
Hi My Iron and Ferritin are always on the low side. Recently my iron was 13, 3 months before it was 8 and ferritin never seems to go above 30. I am currently on 1 ferrous fumarate daily 210mg, but this never seems to increase levels higher. I can't tolerate two a day as I get a very bad stomach. I have

Hypophosphatasia
Recently had a number of blood tests. One test which has been upper end of low for about 4 years is alkaline phosphatase. Normal range, 46-116 U/L. My results were 2016: 39; 2017: 29; 2018: 32; 2019: 40. I've never had any of the tooth or bone abnormalities generally associated with hypophosphatasia,

SOS - accident - not thyroid related
Yesterday my husband fell (there was a pothole) crossing the road and pulled me down with him. He is perfectly ok apart from a grazed finger, but I fell on my right side and the side of both knees. We were very near our medical centre, so went in and were seen by a nurse. She bathed and dressed my knees

Endo Pain
My pain is horrendous - severe daily pain. I honestly don’t even know how I function I am awaiting my third laparoscopic excision surgery and the consultant said regular surgery may need to happen. Also being tested for PCOS as a recent ultra sound showed signs of that I am currently being weaned off

New member, question about iron and rls
Hello, hope someone can help me, I've been given ferrous sulfate tablets 200mg three times a day as I have rls symptoms and a ferritin level of 27. I was just wondering how long it takes on these tablets for ferritin levels to show any improvement and to get to the recommended level needed to improve

FT3 & FT4 on Levo and NDT
Dear all, since my last post I have felt extremely unwell. Granted my Ferritin is low again at 15 (increased ferrous fumarate to x 3 per day). I asked doctor last week to test T4 and T3 and explained situation re thyroid meds! So the lab tested them, as follows: FT3 3.3 range 3.1 - 6.8 FT4 11.6 range
