Ferrous sulphate

I am now slightly anaemic and my gp has prescribed ferrous sulphate. Has anyone else had this? Might the anaemia be linked to sulfusalazine?

I’ve been taking 3 x 200 mg ferrous sulphate tabs every other day as you advised but I’m experiencing side effects that I could do without at the moment. I don’t want to reduce the overall dosage and I want to ask if 2 tabs taken once daily would be a reasonable and safe alternative.

I have found this information helpful and take my ferrous sulphate every other day now.

I ask as my latest blood results have shown my iron is through the floor again (I have GAVE) so am waiting on iron infusions and they want me to trial ferrous fumerate as couldn’t cope with ferrous sulphate.

I am taking 200mg Ferrous Sulphate once a week as prescribed by my Doctor. I was originally on it daily but my dose has been gradually reduced over the course of the last year or so.

I also take 100mg sertraline, 200mg ferrous sulphate, a vitamin C and a cod liver oil in the morning. many thanks Jason

I am on ferrous sulphate, vit D spray, Igennus Super b complex and have added in Igennus triple magnesium complex. I have found that since adding the magnesium in I am getting headaches and not sleeping very well despite taking it earlier in the day.

I am taking ferrous sulphate in the middle of the night with vit c. Magnesium citrate before bed with D3 and k2. I take 5htp, hyaluronic acid, vit Bs and omega 3 fish oil.

He had low Hb and the GP prescribed ferrous sulphate which has helped him 100% and the breathing is now ok. He's doing really well and we went out today for a stroll - his first mile !!

And also is ferrous sulphate the right thing? It’s so hard because I have to follow this pathway for now. Thanks.

Saw the neurologist yesterday, 6 months since first appointment when he put me on ferrous sulphate 200mg x 2 which I’ve been taking at night with vitamin C.

Since then I’ve felt increasingly unwell ( tired, light headed, occasional palpitations etc) and to add to my woes in September 2024 was diagnosed with anaemia and ferrous sulphate was added to my various potions.

He finished the ferrous sulphate so we bought ferrous glycinate and he’s taking 60 g of that at night since yesterday . I think he needs to go to every other night with the iron as Sue suggested on a previous post, he started probiotics L plantum V 299 today also to help absorb the iron.

sulphate for 8 months which just made me feel sick, so I stopped and I take 200mg of B12 and 1000mg (have just upped it to 2000mg the past week or so) of vit D a day.

sulphate to help increase this in the hope of higher ferritin less symptoms but instead of it going up it has gone down now at 31 he's not sure how to move on from this so my gp has emailed a specialist for advise has anyone else's ferritin dropped while taking this and how have you managed to increase

I have been taking Ferrous sulphate 200mg for the last year. I also take otc Magnesium and vitamin D. I have used the magnesium oils on my legs and the other suggested relief options but absolutely nothing has worked.

I managed to argue the ferritin and get some ferrous sulphate tablets.

Plus Vit D supplements folate and ferrous sulphate. She was told she couldn’t have any more steroids.

Utter nightmare Ferrous sulphate which I bought privately at a 200mg dose didn’t do this when I tried that a few months ago so thinking I’d just ditching the fumurate and cycling between the ferrous sulphate and bisglycinate. Is there a huge difference between the two?

I've been prescribed ferrous sulphate 200mg. Not sure what 30ug/L means though can anyone enlighten me?
