Iron Deficiency - even when taking iron supplements
Several posts recently have mentioned people having some difficulty in improving iron levels sufficiently even when taking
Ferrous
Sulphate
or one of the other higher-dose iron supplements over a long time. At the same time, some people have mentioned Floradix being helpful.

My rheumy gave me
ferrous
sulphate
as ferritin levels are only 8 but it gave me an upset stomach. I've since tried ferrous gluconate which had the same effect. Anyone know what else I can take that won't cause stomach cramping and upset stomach?

Whats the link between VitD and magnesium?
Have been reading a very interesting article (from someone on this site) regarding VitD/Magnesium suppliments. According to the article you should not take VitD unless you are also taking magnesium as it can cause arrythmia problems. My reason for asking is that my arrythmia could be linked to my

How can my Ferritin have dropped again?
My Ferritin started out at 10, (ref range 13-150) - it only went up to 13 after months and months of supplementing with
Ferrous
Sulphate
from the doc. I decided to try liquid iron instead so i began taking 2 x Spatone liquid sachets a day (with vitamin C) that i bought from the Chemist.

My Scary Baby Journey 1
I was so happy to find out that I was pregnant with my second baby, our first baby...a lovely little boy called Ben was a 'surprise' to say the least and it was nice to be married and have a 'planned' baby....although on hindsight I think that's where we went wrong! I had Ben when I was 22 and despite

My iron level is 29 and I take 200mg

Any ideas about usage of Borax?
I occasionally pick up a library book that looks interesting and read chunks of it. The subjects do vary but I was in a charity shop yesterday, picked up this book called "The Cure for all Diseases" that apparently has 'many exclusive case histories'. Liver was covered in the book so for a couple pounds

Recently diagnosed witth IBS. Have underactive thyroid on 100mg thyroxine daily, i also take ferrous fumarate and folate. Adivce if you can.
I am also on 20mg citalopram. To be honest i'm not convinced my symptoms are IBS so thought i'd see what the experts (the patients!!!) thought. My main symptom is abdominal bloating which can occur within 5 minutes of eating any wheat gluten or dairy...hence i have cut these items from my diet, further

An xray showed faecal impaction. I was shocked because my bowel movements were normal-no constipation. Was prescribed lactulose and Ispaghula Husk. Slightly improved.... Has anyone else had this? How long does it take to clear? Should I try Epsom Salts? Also read about OxyPowder [supposed to be really
