thank you. Have been on amlodipine for3 years. Should have been reviewed after 6 months but wasn’t given appointment until today despite many efforts. Only got that as I said I’d experienced some palpitations. Still can’t see a doctor, but a nurse. Was on ramipril which was great. Only side effect was a horrendous and continuous cough. Was put on amlodipine and gained weight. I’m very active so not from lack of exercise. Have had appointment with a frantic and overworked nurse today as no doctors available except to authorise prescriptions. Have now been put on candesartan. Can’t wait for the next lot of side effects 😂

Not in my case and I have been taking it for well over two years. I hope candesartan works for you.

Hello. 😃 I take amlodipine. I haven’t noticed weight gain and I’ve been on it for 2 years. Since starting it though I have very closely monitored sodium and keep it at 1500 to 2000 max. Good luck and hope this helps.

Hi Doberman,when having a blood test for something else ,I was told I had high blood preasure.I always had —white coat syndrome so got my own unit for use at home.The doctors sent a link for me to send my readings twice a day.I have become obsessed with it. I was given Amlodapine 5 mg , oh my God the side effects were dreadful😖 I couldent walk as my feet ad ankles were so

Swollen .fainted,sickness agitated no sleep to a namebut a few.after speaking to the pharmacistI-and Doctor and studying all the other tablets I could take, I decided with the nurse to try useing diet and exercise , throwing the salt away ,got books and videos. and keeping a diary.I have an appointment next week to discus it with my doctor.I am scared to take any mor tablets.
