Doxazosin and what’s next
I have had 2 strokes, one while undergoing chemotherapy, (ovarian cancer, hysterectomy and chemo due to cyst burst) which had to be stopped after 2 sessions due to reactions from Pachtaxel, and Dexamethasone(steroids). Was recovering well when woke up with limited movement on right. I have had high

should I believe it? And if so, should I be worried?
this morning my Fitbit tells me my pulse went up to 112 at midnight last night - I was fast asleep!!! Should I believe it? And should I be worried? I take bisoprolol and ramipril at night …. I get palpitations during the day sometimes but completely random. Jane (enjoying the sun)!

coronary artery spasm
Hi. I have been told that I most probably have coronary artery spasm as get chest pain if I rush especially if it’s cold and I’ve just eaten or had a drink of something. It started in 2021 and I had loads of tests and they said my arteries were clear. They put me on Atorvastatin and low dose aspirin.

Lower back pain
Hi My name is Gulshan Munshi. I am 68 years old and suffering from lower back pain which travels down to my legs which makes it very difficult to walk or sit for a longer period of time. I get kind of strange type of pain in my right leg e.g. vein or bone getting on top of each other and until that comes

Thyroxine and amlodipine
I started taking amlodipine for high blood pressure a few weeks ago. I have been taking it at night, well away from my thyroxine which I take an hour before breakfast every day. The practice nurse said I would be fine to take the two medications together, but I wondered if any of the thyroid experts

Amlodipine
I was taken off amlodipine some months ago and put on extra bisoprolol because I had swollen painful ankles. Later my cardiologist became concerned that.my dosage of bisoprolol was too high 7.5 mg and reduced it to 5. My blood pressure became high again and I was prescribed amlodipine again. This did

Feeling a little low
Update I had a heart attack in September that left me with a 100 percent blockage in the right artery. In and out of hospital since December with unstable angina. On the 29th March I had 3 stents fitted after trying both wrists they then eventually did it through the groin. Discharged 5 days later

Increased Ramipril dosage
Hi, Post heart attack I’m on 2.5mg ramipril, so relatively low dosage. From meeting with my cardiologist last week he want to now double this to 5mg as my blood pressure still a bit high. This may sound a really stupid question, but will it be a matter of just taking two of my current dose or will

Blood Pressure Tablets
Hi - my GP prescribed Amlodipine 5mg one tablet per day for my high blood pressure. Only a couple of days later I saw my Consultant regarding my Afib who changed Amlodipine for Adizem 120mg once a day. I also take Flecainide 50mg twice a day for Afib. Does anyone else take Adizem and have any side

BP tablets and erection
Hi all. Currently on 5mg ramipril and 10 mg amlodipine . So far not really reducing BP. No real side affects apart from tiredness and more worrying it is affecting my libido and ability to achieve erection. Anyone else suffer like this? Any solution? Could tolerate if BP was coming down.

Ramipril or/and lack of sleep causing higher BP?
I am a slim, physically active 63 year old. My diet is good and I am retired. My blood pressure was measured at 160/85 at a check-up. Whilst, waiting for a doctor's appointment, I measured my BP at home. It was typically around 135/77 but on two ocasions over a ten day period it hit 155/80. At the doctor's

Hypertension
I have lymphoedema in my left leg and wear full length compression. My GP wants to prescribe Amlodipine for mild hypertension. I note that a side effect is swollen ankles and this does concern me greatly. Any advice please. Thank you

Recurrence of coronary artery spasm
Yet another trip to A&E. Fortunately spasm didn't result in increase in troponin levels so after monitoring me for entire day recommendation was to add isosorbide mononitrate to daily cocktail of drugs. I have three questions please: 1. Has anyone struggling with this condition found an ideal cocktail

Heart palpitations causing worry
After diagnosis of borderline hypertension, Dr prescribed amlodipine initially 5mg but increased to 10 mg approx 8 weeks ago. Still didn't hit target 135/80 so started Ramipril initially 2.5mg then increased to 5mg. I reported increased palpitations and Ramipril reduced back to 2.5mg which initially

Blood Pressure concerns
Hello, May I ask for some advice please. I have developed high blood pressure over the last few years. I currently take 10mg of Ramipril which is the highest dose. This gets my blood pressure to about 135/85 when I take 3 readings at home. I had a non BP related episode health issue a few days ago

Smartwatch ecg
Hi there everyone. I was diagnosed with mild LVSD after chemotherapy treatment and have been on bisoprolol and ramipril for a few years. I've recently discovered my watch can do ecg's , but my results do not look like my husbands and all the other 'normal' ecgs online. They have large waves. I will
