I had a heart attack in September that left me with a 100 percent blockage in the right artery. In and out of hospital since December with unstable angina.
On the 29th March I had 3 stents fitted after trying both wrists they then eventually did it through the groin. Discharged 5 days later as had to have ct scans as the bruising was so extensive.
Admitted back a Day later with an infection and on IV antibiotics for 5 days and more scans all ok apart from extensive internal bruising. Sent home with antibiotics and hoped that would be it for hospital. Went to Doctors about blood pressure as extremely dizzy and ended back in hospital on a surgical ward but once again all ok still showing bruising.
I am home now but feeling so low but telling family and friends I am ok. The indigestion has got worse since the stents and I am still on Bisoprolol, lisinopril, amlodipine, clopidogrel, Asprin and isosorbide mononitrate, rosuvastatin and lansoprazole.
I have chest discomfort but it is definitely not angina as I remember how that felt. I also am getting horrendous muscle aches so wondering if that’s the statin. I have another doctors appointment tomorrow but just feel like they think she is here again. They wanted to put me on antidepressants but I know I don’t want them I just want all these aches pains and indigestion to go away.
I am so sorry for this long post but feel better for writing this on here. Can I ask people that have had stents how long did it take you to feel normal again please. This has been the worst 7 months of my life and just want to be me.
thanks for reading ❤️

There is no wonder you feel down going through all that most would and may I suggest that you tell your family how you feel you need all the support you can get and I am sure they would want to support you as well as we will do all we can to and you have somewhere to come and talk
I get frustrated when Doctors want to put you straight on antidepressants when they are needed that is fine but I have said the same to through the years if this and that was not happening I would not feel down so I know what you are saying
I am not sure what the Doctors think when we turn up and talk to them but if they do have these thoughts don't let it bother you just keep pushing for the help you need
It is early days and even though I have not had stents but Bypasses I think with both things need time to settle down
Good luck with your appointment and think about telling your family I know you would want to know if they were struggling
I couldn’t comment on the blockage or the stents, I do however, suffer with bad indigestion myself. There is a really common medicine by the name of Omeprazole which I have personally taken in the past and I know it is a popular med which helps with symptoms of indigestion. I also take Gaviscon everyday and find that it helps with my acid reflux.
You could possibly discuss changing your indigestion meds with your doctor tomorrow and see if they can prescribe something else as I can see you are on Lansoprazole at the moment.
I hope you can also get something to help with the chest pain and aches you are feeling as well.
There are others here who have had stents and I hope they come along and offer some support so that you know you are not alone and give you more advice on recovery.
I had the exact same trauma as you with regard to the stenting procedure. I was black and blue with the bruising (still have the photos) and the procedures had to be aborted. Until such time, I had entry through my groin (under general anesthesia) and even then I was bruised right down to my knees ! It was an absolutely horrific time . .
I too was put on the same range of medications as yourself.
That said, once the stents were in and I returned home, I had no further issues with them from a physical point of view, I couldn't feel them or anything. EXCEPT . . . my previous blocked artery symptoms persisted and I knew something was just not right.
Long story short - Eventually I had a cardiac MRI perfusion, and was immediately diagnosed with a completely different (secondary) heart condition, which was genetic in origin, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, which just happens to have similar/the same symptoms, as for blocked arteries.
I was also told that my stents were working just fine.
More medication added, but it's keeping me alive.
Moral of the story, if something doesn't "feel right" go back to your Cardiology team and request to be seen.
Go via your Cardiologists Secretary for a quicker more direct route.
I'm certainly not saying you have HCM.
I'm just saying to take your symptoms seriously and get further medical advice.
I hope you get your issues resolved and your outlook improves.
I’m sorry to hear that you’re feeling low and I can empathise with telling your family that you’re fine when you’re not.
I can’t give any support around stents as I haven’t experienced that.
What I can say with confidence is that no good will come from keeping your feelings to yourself. Your family wouldn’t want you to suffer in silence and the energy it takes to keep up a front will hinder you moving forward and getting back to feeling yourself.
Obviously it’s your choice and I don’t want to put any additional pressure on you to make any choice that you’re not comfortable with but I would encourage you to think about telling a family member that you trust about how you’re feeling 🙂
Also, if you don’t feel right then tell a professional; again don’t suffer in silence 🤗
thank you thank you for your replies I appreciate your time in replying. I had a doctors appointment and I am on more antibiotics this time for an infection of the dangly bit in my throat [uvula] . She has dropped the Bisoprolol to 1.25mg and isosorbride to 60 mg. I have another appointment booked with her as my potassium levels are to high. I am going to ask if I can come off lisinopril as when I take it my throat swells. I am still feeling extremely low and haven’t told my family yet how I am feeling but appreciate your comments xx❤️❤️
