Hi, I had a GP appointment Thursday and have been referred for an emergency ultra sound and blood test. I'm feeling really anxious. I thought I had peri menopause symptons for months. I'm on estrogen only HRT as have the coil ( which is due to be replaced). I can only describe my symptons as constant

Sex hormones
Does anyone know if 26.3 (16-124) is lower than ideal? My testosterone was bottom of range but now ok with HRT. I’m trying to get to the bottom of my low cortisol and whilst this is in range, wondered if it should ideally be higher like your thyroid? Many thanks

Knee Replacement Yesterday
Thanks to those of you who wished me well yesterday. I had full knee replacement surgery yesterday afternoon. On the advice of the surgical team I had my normal dose of Prednisolone in the morning. Epidural for the op and played nice music through my ear buds to drown out the sound of the team and the

Red lumps on hands
Hi, Since I've started having issues with my joints (had two hip replacements at 25, arthritis in my lower lumbar spine & sacralratic joint etc) I've had these lumps appear for a couple of days (more sometimes) and then they go away for a bit. They really hurt to touch. They appear over night most of

RLS and surgery
As I have previously indicated, I take Belbuca buccal patch for my RLS. I am scheduled for hip replacement surgery in the near future. Recently I have seen several posts stating that any surgery will cause increased RLS . Honestly, I am now very concerned and anxious about this. Because I take Belbuca

tear in my meniscus cartilage
What a difference two weeks can make. Two weeks ago I you asked if I should attempt a taper to try to force my adrenals to wake up. The circumstances were not very good and you advised me to leave it for a while so I took your advice. A few days later I somehow got a tear in the cartilage of my knee

Hi. I've been on HealthUnlocked for some time now and for some reason, my profile states I've not introduced myself. I've written a bio within my profile which summarises my journey with sJIA. I've had systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis for over fifty years and early on had periods of remission

Help! cascade of hormonal events after Covid booster! Not sure where to turn next…
Hi everyone I started having menopausal symptoms when I was 47. As I had the merino coil I was just given a 50mg oestrogen patch which worked wonders and got rid of the hot sweats. All was running smoothly until about a year later when I started getting hot flashes and itchy skin. Went up to 75 patch

After some advice
I'm 57 yo post menopausal woman with hypermobility and POTS (POTS only diagnosed in 40's after much pushing with medical profession). I take HRT and meds for POTS. I'm suffering with a number of tendonitis issues and wonder if anyone has any advice about this? At the moment it's achilles tendonitis

RLS worse after knee replacement
I've taken Pramipexole for a long time and it's worked. However, after recent knee replacement surgery (7th Feb), the RLS is driving me mad. I'm up every night after 1 or 2 hours' sleep and end up taking an opioid to settle it.Can the pain from the knee be causing it? Any advice welcome.

hi there, Sorry not strictly thyroid related but I trust you symptom sharing lot so I hope you don’t mind. Having sorted my thyroid replacement I can now see I have some perimenopausal symptoms. The Menopause specialist at GP is reluctant to prescribe Lenzetto & Urtogestan until I have the all clear

What is my ideal body weight supposed to be for 5ft 1"? I asked the doctor and she didn't know the answer.
Does anyone know what body weight I should be at if I'm looking to get there? I am 5'1"... I asked a couple days ago at the gynecologist office and she didn't know the answer. She told me just to Google it but when I did I find all sorts of different answers. I'm looking for the weight that I should

Hi I have been having blood tests every 6 months for 3 years because my LFT s are coming back abnormal. I used to be a heavy drinker but for the past few years I have cut down and never have more than 14 units a week. I have been in hospital for a hip replacement and then was readmitted as I had an

Hello, Diagnosed with Hashimoto’s 2019, it was a long and sickly road to diagnosis and treatment. Levothyroxine only didn’t work for me and after a couple of not so great endo appointments I finally found a really good endocrinologist who agreed to add in liothyronine and commenced me on 20mcg
