couch to 5k post total hip replacement
hello I am 9 months post hip replacement. I had a dual mobility cup replacement as I am hypermobile. I needed the replacement due to a fall and subsequent deteriorating osteoarthritis. I was told by a private consultant that I’ll never run again but my nhs consultant said I would. I have been a runner

Has anyone gained weight whilst being on Bisoprolol? I’ve gained two stone in two years; and am now borderline diabetic with a score of 42 in my recent blood tests (hbc?) I also take Adalimubab injections for my Arthritis. There are days when I am extremely lethargic but need to lose weight prior

Stuck at 4.5mg
Have been on 4.5 mg since last November. Saw hip surgeon in January who told me to stay on 4.5mg rather than risk a flare before my surgery for hip replacement which took place in March. After my op I was in a lot of pain (from the surgery) with a prolonged recovery so even though my GP told me to try

Surgery soon
Hello all - just wanted to say it's great to have found this group and it's been reassuring to read a lot of the posts here. I was told I would have to wait until October - January for my valve replacement but things have moved quickly in the past couple of weeks. I am now being admitted on Monday with

Question of the Week: Why did you start to run?
A lot of us start C25K having done little or no exercise since we left school. Others used to be active but life intervened - work, children, illness, injury, other responsibilities. Were you advised by your doctor that you needed to get more active. Or did you just take a look at your sedentary lifestyle

Advice for depressed husband
Need advice everyone. As I battle my own depression I see more and more signs my husband is depressed and suffers from anxiety as well. Important notes: -Middle aged, has horrible knees and may be looking at knee replacement - Knee issues have caused slowing of exercise and weight gain - Very upset

Bleeding
For those people who worry about stopping their anticoagulant for medical procedures in case they have a stroke maybe my experience might reassure them. All drugs have a half life so the amount of time you have to stop before a procedure is calculated taking this into account. For the "bans" it is

nhs weight loss app .
hi all , went to see a hip Specialist yesterday and he has advised me to lose weight before I have a hip replacement in October . I’m 56 , 6 ft 1” and obese . Typical middle aged spread . He says it’s important for me to be thinner in 12 weeks so I downloaded the nhs app . Looking forward to finally

Post surgery pain
I previously posted a question about post surgical pain and Belbuca (buccal Buprenorphine,). I had hip replacement one week ago. The pain is excruciating. I conferred with my surgeon prior to the surgery because I was afraid of this. He told me not to worry. Ha! I am taking Oxycodone every 6 hours
