NRAS is interested in how women living with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) are affected by going through the peri-menopause, menopause or post menopause. We believe that not enough focus is given to menopausal symptoms and the effect it has on women with RA. We would like your views and opinions on this to help us take this further with rheumatology healthcare professionals.

Definition of stages of menopause

You are in full menopause when you have gone one full year without a period, so peri menopause is that time before that when you are starting to get symptoms and your body gradually stops oestrogen production. Once you have been in menopause for a year or more, this is considered to be post menopause however you may still experience symptoms but generally they get milder but this is not always the case for some women. You stay in post menopause for the rest of your life.

Oh the joys of womanhood !

The questionnaire can be found at the link above and should only take about 10 minutes to complete. Already 730 ladies have completed the survey so let's see if we can get it up to 800 by Monday the closing date.

Thank you ladies
