Prostate size reduction by hormone treatment - how long should this take?
Hi, I am beginning hormone therapy, which should hopefully reduce the size of my prostate. I have been given 11.5mg of Leuprorelin and 2 weeks of bicalutamide to reduce the testosterone flair up. How long should this take to actually reduce the size of my prostate?

2 and 3/4 years ago I did one shot lupron, then external beam, then brachy. I was 60 yrs old with localized cancer with 6,6 ,3-4, 3-4, 4-3 Gleasons and a PSA 8.58, and a large large prostate (37), BMI:37.8 . PSA dropped below 1 and has stayed there. Testosterone returned to a range of 429 to 512.

I met with my MO today and he agreed to start measuring DHT ,
Estradiol
and free
Testosterone
as well and PSA and T going forward. PSA was stable at 0.03 only blood # out of ordinary was ALT = 99 normal range 16-61. Dr. says "liver enzymes were elevated and your potassium levels were low."

Low Testosterone due to under active thyroid?
Hello, I got diagnosed with low t and an under active thyroid. The endo told me the low t was due to my under active thyroid so she put me on erfa thyroid 30mcg. Starting with half a grain and building up. I’m now in the second week and building up to 1 grain. But I’m feeling shitty now I’m the 2nd week

Progesterone, Medichecks range for post menopausal women
Hi All, I am post menopausal, age 70 plus. I don't take any HRT currently, just thyroid hormones. I did a blood test to check out my sex hormones as per the advice in Paul Robinson's book 'The Thyroid Patient' manual'. Progesterone: 0.8 nmol/L (postmenopause <0.401) Oestradiol: <18.4 pmol

Response to supraphysiological testosterone is predicted by a distinct androgen receptor cistrome.
Can we test for this? The androgen receptor (AR) is a master transcription factor that regulates prostate cancer (PC) development and progression. Inhibition of AR signaling by androgen deprivation is the first-line therapy with initial efficacy for advanced and recurrent PC. Paradoxically, supraphysiological

Four Year Transdermal Estradiol Update
Well, it's been four years since I started applying transdermal estradiol gel (tE2) as my mono-therapy and I'm quite happy with the results. My SOLE side effect is some degree of gynecomastia which is a 'small price to pay to keep the PC at bay'! Just a brief history, and yet another 'boob' pic (taken

Testosterone Injections
I recently had my blood sample taken and results reviewed by the Men's Health Clinic. They couldn't do anything for me because my testosterone levels were in the 'normal' range (specifics below). To be honest they didn't take me seriously from first contact due to me not being in the 50+ age bracket,

Pcos healthy teas
In a study of 21 women with PCOS , two cups of spearmint tea a day decreased
testosterone
and helped better balance LG , FSH and
estradiol
levels. Spearmint tea can help to promote relaxation and reduce stress. The leaves contain menthol, which has a relaxing, sedative effect on the body.

What strength Estradiol patches have worked for hot flashes ?
I’ve tried 0.1 mg/day patch for a week . Haven’t noticed any improvement . But my motto has always been , “ Instant gratification takes too long !”😂

Cleared the Slate and Started Over
I felt like I was spinning my wheels, so I basically cleared the slate and I am starting all over. I went through surgical menopause in my early 40s and now I am 58, so I am trying to figure out sex hormones as well as thyroid. I know I need adequate amounts of estrogen and thyroid to feel well. My problem

We have reached castrate resistance...what to do next?
I have been following this forum for a couple of years now, and have learned so much from all of you. But this is my first time to post...I knew this time would eventually come, but somehow it still caught me off guard. Dad is now 75; he was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic prostate cancer December

Fatigue and muscle loss
Then 73 years old with PSA 11.3, I was diagnosed with T3b prostate cancer in February 2021. Surgery not a realistic option because of the spread into one of the seminal vesicles, so opted for EBRT and ADT (Zoladex). EBRT (60Gy in 20 doses) completed mid December, last Zoladex implant in January, and

Just a quick question, does hypothyroid affect your blood sugars and testosterone levels?

Wondering which arm of STAMPEDE dictated my 18 to 16 month ADT plus Zytiga treatment plan ?
I have “ low metastatic load “ based on a clean PSMA -PET scan but I am high risk based on PSA 61 ( I was Gleason 6 on only biopsy in 2009 ) and “ probable” seminal vesicle EPE . Taking Avodart for ten years and doing many lifestyle changes per Snuffy Meyers kept my PSA low for a decade but when I

Test results, need advice please
Hi All, I just joined this group. I'm more often on the thyroid group but I just did a blood test to check out my sex hormones as per the advice in Paul Robinson's book 'The Thyroid Patient' manual'. I am post menopausal, age 70 plus. I don't take any HRT currently, just thyroid hormones. Anyway
