Hi. It's a long time since I posted here but I'm hoping someone might recall the problem I've had, particularly with getting a diagnosis of lupus. Since I last posted I have had 2 TIAs (LA) and gotten a diagnosis of vasculits. I have several AI diseases, a malaria rash and many symptoms of lupus. Whether

DHT / Avodart
New study below [1]. There have been some negative posts regarding the potential benefit of Dutasteride [Avodart] against PCa. Dr Myers used Avodart in men on ADT who nonetheless produced significant levels of dihydrotestosterone [DHT]. (The true target of ADT is DHT - not testosterone [T].) Myers

Hormones, which one is better?
Hello, I have been against hormones for ten years since I tried the ring and had a horrible experience. I had laparoscopy last year in Sept and have already another cyst on the same side (and growing). Therefore, even if I tried other natural alternatives, I think it's time to take some hormones as I

Help with my results
Hi all, I have had my results back from a recent check and before I have a follow up appointment I was hoping you might be able to advise me on what my optimal results should be (because most of them say I am "normal"/ within range). I should say, before I post results, that I have stopped taking Levo

Unexplained Weight Gain
I am a proponent of the book Stop The Thyroid Madness. Taking T4 Levothyroxine does not help me since my T4 does not turn into T3. Also, if I have high RT3, low iron or cortisol not at the optimal level I will gain weight. My spouse is at the perfect weight for his height 165 pounds at 6'2". However

Central hypo - LH, FSH testosterone, estradiol and cortisol levels
Hi everyone! I am currently nearly a week into being treated for the suspected secondary hypothyroidism and today got the letter my endo sent to the doctors about his plan for treatment. He performed a huge amount of tests aside the thyroid ones and said they were normal. I trust him but I just wondered

Estradiol Levels and Follicle numbers during IVF Stims
I started my injections Thursday 75iu Meriofert and 75iu Fostimon. I had an E2 (estradiol) blood test on the Sunday (day 4) which came back as 172 pg/ml. They upped my Fostimon to 150iu. I had a scan and another blood test on Tuesday (day 6), my E2 is now 308 pg/ml and she said I have 8/9 follicles growing

Early Hypo/Hashi's Complicated By Adrenal/Low Cortisol
Greetings everyone: Finally got fed up with my family doctor who knows nothing and went two routes - endocrinologist (my doctor reluctantly gave a referral) and naturopath. Symptoms I have just about every symptom of hypothyroidism I have ever read and I am confirmed Hashi's by antibodies and ultrasound

Best new drugs for castrate-resistant PC?
From Yeatz: Last spring, had recurrence of high-risk PC after radiation & ADT 3-5 years ago. Back on Eligard; PSA went from 2.7 to 1.4, then 1.7. But in past six weeks, PSA shot from 1.7 to 2.8 with no testosterone; I assume it's now castrate-resistant (no mets). Unfortunately, PC went outside capsule

Male pattern balding in women.
Hi all, I know a lot of us have hair thinning issues and recently mine have become quite alarming. I have just been introduced to a substance called dihydrotestostrone, DHT. https://www.hormone.org › glands-and-hormones-a-to-z DHT, or dihydrotestosterone, is an androgen produced as a byproduct of testosterone

Endometriosis and perimenopause
As someone with endo, for whom birth control hormonal manipulation has not worked. It made me far too emotional and I tried them all. I see similar options available for perimenopausal women and it scares me. I've heard of a place in London that offers bespoke hormonal treatments and sometimes use

New member, some info about me
Hello all. Just joined as another PCa guy with Gleason 10. My doctor offered the cryo/immuno treatment with it being

Medichecks stopping special order finger prick tests. Where can I get bloods from now? Does anyone use companies other than BH or Medi?
Hi I usually do the wellwoman ultravit test via fingerprick through medichecks. They've been brilliant over the last few years from a customer service point of view which is why I switched from blue horizon. The test includes FBC liver function, iron status, kidney function, hba1c, inflammation marker

Incredible loss of strength on limited ADT
This is my second post, I ask for your opinions. In 2013 I was going to do radiation for a Gleason 9, so I went on Zoladex it was for 3 months. My GP talk me into surgery instead. In 2015 I did salvage radiation and again did 3 months of zolodex. From 2013 to 2019 I lost a lot of strength I asked them

Update: Experience with Estradiol patches for ADT
Now 7 weeks in and I have learned the following: 1)
Estradiol
can effectively lower
testosterone
by depressing GnRH but it is a gradual process requiring about a month to reach castrate levels. 2) The side effects profile is unbelievably better with estradiol! Zero hot flashes.

Pizza Pizza....(but NOT Little Caesar's) This pizza looks as big as ME! ! ! I was out a couple of days ago with a good friend, Ruth...and we put a big dent into this...her 4 slices and a salad...me 3. I love to eat. My dilemma, as my own caregiver (my partner of 42 years is more of a "body guard/moral

Post ADT Testosterone replacement therapy
I am interested if anyone has undergone testosterone replacement after ADT. Some new studies have suggested low T after ADT can actually accelerate cancer progression..

Hypo and low testosterone in females.... is it a thing?
As above! I’ve been struggling with muscle weakness all the time I’ve had problems with my hypo. It’s better with T3 but I’m seriously struggling to build or even maintain muscle and this is now causing other issues. Ive looked up the symptoms of low testosterone and I tick every box! I’m wondering
