Hi everyone, I'm new here. I'm worried about numbness in my arms and pins and needles at night (Sometimes arms can feel heavy / weak all day). I also have recent anxiety (Never had it like this before). Sometimes I can't sleep and other times I'm falling asleep in my feet. The brain fog is awful

Radical prostatectomy successful - now what?
6 weeks after surgery and my recovery has progressed relatively well. My first post-surgery blood test showed my PSA score to be 'undetectable'. My urinary control has been excellent, I'm walking as much as 10 miles at a time without any ill-effects, and I've recently also began incorporating some mild

PRINT
New video from Dr. Oh [1]. Trial description: [2] PRINT is a lousy name for a study because you can't just Google <PRINT> & expect good hits. The alternative is to Google: <Prostate Cancer Intensive, Non-Cross Reactive Therapy>. LOL Two interesting things in the study: (i) pairing therapies & (ii)

New study below [1]. "The roles of estrogen and progesterone in human prostate carcinogenesis have been only recently recognized." Not true. Some recognized it at least 15 years ago, but it is not close to being accepted in the US, so far as I can tell. It has long been know, however, that ERbeta is

Hormone testing and Endo
I just wanted to share with you – I've just been to a private clinic to get my hormones tested and it's come back with very low testosterone and low oestrogen, I'm also waiting for my laparoscopy at the moment and planning on having the coil at the same time. Has anyone else looked into their hormone

Will slow-growing follicles catch up?
Hi all, I have just embarked on my 2nd round of IVF. I have low amh (4) and endo stage 4. At my baseline scan I was told I had an AFC of 12, but today (day 4 of stims) I was told that my AFC is 8 and only 2 follicles look like they are growing as they should (2 were 9/10 mm and the rest below 6).

Naturally High Testosterone causes water retention?
I have had oily skin since I was a kid, I am now 38 years old. I have been having outbreaks of acne since I was young. I got my hormones tested today and my testosterone is very high, I am not taking supplements or any weird stuff. Could this explain my water retention? (its listed as a side effect

Dog... man's best friend
It is fascinating to me that our best friend, the dog, is the fellow-sufferer of PC that helped us learn how to treat the disease. Likewise fascinating is the post-dog work of Charles Huggins... this 1966 paper tells us we can potentially treat PC by removing testosterone, as we commonly do today...

When to start Estrogen after Bueserilin?
I have been taking Bueserilin since CD21 and just got my period today. If the progynova/estrogen is to thicken the lining, when do you start it? I would think there would need to be a good bleed before starting the estrogen and yet my clinic says to start today, (CD1)? My lining was 11 last transfer

UNDISCLOSED SIDE EFFECTS OF HDR BRACHY THERAPY.?
Five months after my HDR Brachy, i have intermittent pain internally in my perineum region. nurse practitioner says that it is a side effect of the procedure and that it doesn't happen often but when it does it's usually much more severe so I am lucky that is not excruciating pain. Was never told

Find and Zap?
I had a consult with one of my MOs a few weeks ago, and he has new ideas about how I should be treated. He would like to see me quit Lupron, which I've been on for ~32 months, let my testosterone rise (if it will), see what happens to my PSA, then do either 18-F Axumin or 68-Ga PSMA scans to locate any

High Prolactin
Hi, this is a follow on from some previous posts, however I have some new results from some bloods I had done privately. I went to see an Endo as I had a raised Tsh of 4.38, he was concerned but also wanted me to be seen for potential pituitary problems. He wanted to check LH, FSH, Prolactin & Testostérone

Dr. Schellhammer's own PC experience and thoughts
I stumbled across this, and thought it was a pretty good article by a Uro who has PC... https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5012435/ A few highlights: Regarding recurrence after RP, supporting early systemic therapy, "studies using magnetic resonance imaging have shown a much higher incidence

Surgical Castration. Why is it uncommon?
I received the following circuitously from Richard Wassersug. -Patrick "What is known about the psychological distress of surgical castration versus long term androgen suppression with LHRH agonists or antagonists drugs? I share with Patrick O'Shea an interest in what is in the medical literature

Testosterone recovery (after 6 months of ADT).
New study from Japan, below [1]. "... 125 patients with prostate cancer received 6 months of neoadjuvant ADT (nADT) followed by low-dose rate (LDR) brachytherapy." "The cumulative incidence rates of TT {total testosterone} recovery to normal levels (TT ≥ 3.0 ng/mL) after 12 and 24 months cessation were

A little vent - first frozen cycle
Hello lovelies.. I thought I’d write a post as I’m feeling a bit lonely with this whole IVF process and it’s so nice to speak to people who are going through a similar situation. A bit of background: We started our first fresh cycle in July last year but we ended up with a ‘freeze all’ situation

Testosterone reported < 20
My testosterone was reported as < 20 six months after my last Lupron shot in September 2019. Why reported as < 20, why not 18 or 5 or whatever is the actual value. Can very low T increase bone loss and cardio-vascular risk? If things go by my experience with six months of Lupron in 2017, my T is expected
