Too much thyroxine causing terrible stomach issues
Hi hoping for any fellow sufferers for some advice. I have an under active thyroid and have been taking for a long time now 200 of thyroxine a day. I have been having regular blood tests but the doctors never looked at my results. Last week the GP said that I should only be on 50 a day. The problem is

Hospital visit
Been off for awhile. Good to be back. I was in the hospital for a few days. Thought my heart failure was taking a nosedive, but turned out I was severely anemic. I was bleeding somewhere in my GI tract. Of course, my first thought was esophageal varices although Duke saw none in the upper abdomen from

Stomach bleed following heart medication
Hello all, me again - my mother had the very painful arm following the stent procedure. That has (somewhat)settled down after four weeks. On Saturday she started passing black stools and was taken to hospital with a stomach bleed. She had a blood transfusion yesterday. Waiting for an endoscopy today.

Sitting here in a waiting room at Kings College Hospital waiting for my 3 yearly endoscopic examination for my Liver Cirrhosis and wondering if it will be a lucky or unlucky day. What is everyone doing on this day? Best of luck with what ever you are doing today

Cancerous polyp in stomach
Hi there. I have been having gastric problems for many years but this year I was told I had calprotectin (protein in the poo). I managed to clear it up by removing certain foods from my diet and taking turmeric tablets, etc. At some point I started having discomfort in my stomach despite having an x-ray

Post endoscopy diet
Hi everyone, first time posting. I've had an endoscopy this morning for a coeliac diagnosis. The Dr said everything looks normal but took biopsies as well. My first ttg bloods were 27 then second one 3 weeks later was 39.7. I have eaten loads of gluten in past 6 weeks and have felt dreadful - fatigue

Duopa pump and my day at work
Today at work in the interventional radiology department, i had a patient that was a pwp. He was there to have a tube replacement for his duopa pump system. This was new to me, so I am going to discuss it here for those who have also never heard of it . The duopa system is a wearable external pump that

I would like to start self injections.
I live in the United States and was diagnosed with B12 deficiency. After having an upper endoscopy, with multiple biopsies done. I now know that I have pernicious anemia. I have completed the loading doses, one shot weekly for 6 weeks and my doctor wants me to now have monthly injections for the rest

IBS basics for beginners
Dear all, I have recently been suffering from excess burping and stomach pains for which I became dependent on Nexium for a couple of weeks. I have recently found that this is due mainly to changing from almond milk to lactose free milk, and also because I have been drinking a lot of decaff tea and

Day 4 and still going strong, not even tempted to go back.
It's really not even bothering me that I've quit. The first time i tried it was absolutely horrible. But i made it 7 months. Maybe it's easier this time because i know now what to expect? I know it gets easier and that i won't always be consumed by cravings. But also I'm in so much pain which makes it

How were most of you diagnosed? Wondering how it is confirmed with such unreliable tests
With the antibody test being so unreliable. How is Pernicios anemia usually diagnosed? Is it usually an endoscope? Wondering how they can absolutely confirm it with such unreliable tests? Thank you!

Laryngoscopy and scared
I have had a call from ENT and this to be done next week. I am terrified if it's cancer. A thyroid scan and endoscopy earlier in the year showed no cancer, but what if it's developed? According to the letter I will receive (seen an online version of it) it says nothing about general anaesthetic or not

Endometriosis & Acid Reflux
Hello Girls, I have posted about this before. But wanted to update people and ask more questions. Does anyone have Endo and Acid reflux and take omeprazole?? My acid reflux has started to get out of hand since end of August. Literally can't stop burping. I can have moments where I can't stop and I'm

Iron deficiency anemia
After a year and a half of lupron and zytiga i ended up with anemia. Colonoscopy and endoscopy came out clear and really clean so we attributed it to iron deficiency. Currently iron is at 20 compared to a range of 50-175 and ferritin is at 3 compared to a range of 8-388. I changed my diet to include

All 3 of which normalized after 6 weekly shots. But found i had antibodies to parietal cells and intrinsic factor. Stopped injections and sent
