Been off for awhile. Good to be back. I was in the hospital for a few days. Thought my heart failure was taking a nosedive, but turned out I was severely anemic. I was bleeding somewhere in my GI tract. Of course, my first thought was esophageal varices although Duke saw none in the upper abdomen from the CT scan last July. Anyway, the did an endoscopy, colonoscopy, and sent down a camera capsule to look for bleeding in small bowel. Thankfully, absolutely NO esophageal varices and they couldn’t find the bleed. Since I’m on a blood thinner, they think a small vessel is slowly leaking blood. Will have to have hemoglobin checked often and get IV iron if it goes down again. I had 2 units of blood and IV iron while I was in the hospital. The good news is the GI docs said my liver is synthetically working great even though I have cirrhosis from heart failure and possibly some fatty liver. I’ve lost 36 pounds and feel great! It’s a balancing act with my cirrhosis and heart failure. Just trying to keep chugging along. Now to get back to exercising some since I could barely walk across the room since the anemia. The anemia did set off the heart failure since it was working harder to make up for low red blood count. Happy about my liver though!

Wow. Sounds like you've been through the wringer. Take care and best wishes.
What a crazy roller coaster ride you have been on! A liver which is working can help all the other systems so hopefully this will be true in your case. Thank you for sharing - it is good to be reminded this striving-for-health-centric life is shared by many. Here's to many good days during the Holidays and in the new year!
Glad to hear you are free of the varices. and it is great to have you still with us as we all trudge along in our fight against this mess.
Good to hear you’re back on track blue girl, I’ve just had 4-5 days mainly in my 🛌 bed. Flu 🤧 🤢 yuck. Still managed to stay up all day today, and my first meal in 4 days. Made myself a fresh chicken 🍗 and veggie 🍜soup really enjoyed it.😋.

My scan was good! Everything stable! Please let me j ow the results of yours in Feb. Thinking about you!
I actually felt sore following my scan, done by trainee a little heavy handed I felt. The qualified radiographer took over which was much better, but the damage was done. Now I’m experiencing pain on occasions, but not too severe. Had my first session at the leisure centre today, first time in 15 months. Limited myself to a short session, felt pleased but also tired 😓 phew. And of course the niggling pain in my liver area. Still won’t be too long now until I see consultant, and get a better picture. Will let you know how it goes. Pleased you’re scan was okay. Chrissie x
So sorry to hear that your ultrasound caused you soreness. Don’t need things like that on top of everything else. My scan was a CT so it was a piece of cake. My next scan in July will be an ultrasound. Hopefully, the person that does it will be gentle! 😉
