Astrazeneca vaccine and platelet rise
About 2 weeks after having my first astrazeneca vaccination I had my regular (3 monthly ) blood test. I have PV and have taken hydroxycarbamide and 75mg aspirin daily for over 4 years. In all that time my platelets numbers have been ok but this time they have risen. This might well be coincidence

Update on GCA and thickening of internal carotid artery
I'm creating a new post to follow up on my previous one because I cant locate old posts. Help? The cardiologist said, yes its marginally thicker and doesnt concern him at this time. Still taking baby aspirin every day. Cholesterol levels are awesome and the opinion is the thickening is a result of GCA

I have been booked for my vaccine on Monday, I have ET Calr with fairly high platelets, only on Asprin.. Is there any difference between the two considering the condition? From what been posted in the news: AstraZeneca may cause blood clots Pfizer may not been very effective for blood conditions especially

Bisoprolol versus pill in pocket!!!
Hi all, hope everyone is well. Has anyone here reverted from dosing daily with bisoprolol to a "pill in the pocket" which was successful? This is what I aim to achieve based on my own personal experience with bisoprolol. Of course, I am fully aware that it would be a work in progress because I would

Antibodies
Hello! I have ET and I’m on hydroxy and aspirin therapy. I had my first vaccine in January but I have just had an antibody test which was negative. Obviously I am incredibly disappointed and I was wondering if anyone knows whether it is possible to develop antibodies after the second vaccine dose

Pain Pain Pain
I have Polymyalgia and I am on warfarin and a small amount of aspirin. I have been to a specialist and have had a year on decreasing prednisone. Can anyone suggest a painkiller? The prednisone has finished but alas I'm still in pain.

Back Issues
This may seem like a topic unrelated to AF. It is my experience that nerve issues in the back could be a factor. Unfortunately, heart doctors do not explore this possibility even though the cause of AF has still not been determined. The comment on NSAID's is probably worth considering. They may inhibit

I’d like to ask Hunter about your Drs in the Orlando area, where I am. You changed Drs recently, I think. Would you share their names?
I have JAK 2 ET, diagnosed last summer when endocrinologist saw my elevated blood numbers -750. I am on Eliquis and baby aspirin. I’ve read all I can and watch specialists on youtube. I’d like a Dr, not a PA although the Dr does stick her head in the door to say hello and that my platelets look good

RLS after hip surgery
I have been on this site for a long time. I recently had hip replacement surgery and have had a severe increase in my RLS. The opiates that I take (methadone 10mg po every 8 hours and up to 20mg oxycodone po per day for breakthrough RLS) used to work wonderfully, but since I have this hip replacement

Covid Vaccine Information
COVID vaccine information for APS patients [Updated 28/01/2021] While the vast majority of people are still vulnerable to COVID-19, a vaccine could help teach our bodies to fight the virus by stopping us from being infected or, at least, make COVID-19 less deadly. There are now three different vaccines

Aspirin
Taking aspirin in the evening, before bedtime, is more effective in preventing an unfortunate cardiovascular event than if it is taken in the morning. This is the conclusion of a study by Dutch scientists at Leiden University Medical Center, after analyzing 290 patients who had suffered a heart attack
