Rechecking JAK2 V617F Allele Burden
Hi all, I have an appt with my heme on Feb 4 where he will test my allele burden - 1 yr since my PV diagnosis. Been on a daily double dose of a baby aspirin, weekly pegasys 45mcg, and phlebotomies as necessary ever since. I’ll report back on the results. Curious if others have stories/data to share on

What sort of heart problem do I have then?!
I had a heart attack 4-years ago, and had a stent inserted in my right artery. Cardio-rehab helped me back to my normal life (and better than ever before). A year later I had an A&E admission due to a sudden AF: cardio-versioning failed and I joined the bisoprolol club. Two weeks ago I had another ride

Finger prick testing - my blood is too thick
Hi I'm now seeing a private dr in order to get NDT prescribed. As part of that I need to submit medichecks blood tests so my dose can be adjusted if required. I've done a couple of medichecks tests before and they cause me such stress as my blood is so thick I can usually only manage a thick ball of

MC Trigger warning...
. . . . . . On Friday I was told at my 8 week scan that the baby had stopped growing at 5 weeks and there was no heartbeat. I have to go back for a confirmation scan next Friday but this is my 5th loss now so I know already from experience there's no hope. I started myself on aspirin and Fragmin after

New and nervous about Angina and how to cope with it until CT Angiogram diagnosis.
I have recently been treated for suspected angina and awaiting CT Angiogram diagnosis. From getting symptoms when walking, I now get regular attacks whilst sitting relaxing. I’m on Bisoprolol, aspirin and GTN spray. Having fainted with early use of GTN I’m nervous about using it. I don’t get pain

Sudden Tinnitus
I have for the past weeks been experiencing mild to moderate constant Tinnitus. It sounds like low level ringing combined with an intrusive moderate level high pitched sound. I’ve had my hearing checked by a specialist up to 8000hz and she said my hearing was near perfect and it wasn’t being caused

Pain in centre of back with burping after stents fitted over 12 months ago.
I was diagnosed with Angina with symptoms of pain in my back and associated constant burping whilst walking. Previous to this diagnosis the doctors were prescribing gastric resistant tablets. After stents I was no better. 4 months on I had a second Angiogram and they found that I may suffer from vascular

Angina progressively getting worse
Just wondering if others have had similar experiences of Angina symptoms getting worse over 6-12months. Had a stent fitted in main left artery at the end of April20 instead of having a bypass because of Covid. They sent me home with the standard meds and I thought I was fixed, sadly I still got Angina

Red Cheeks solution?
Can anything be done about hot, red flaming cheeks? I look like I've been scorched. Usually the red cheeks come and go, but they've been this way for two days now. It isn't just how they look, but also how they feel. My face is hot to the touch. Thanks in advance. Oh, I have PV JAK2+. Right now

Does anyone have silent reflux following the start of medication following a heart attack?
Hi Hearties After a heart attack mid February 2020, I developed silent reflux causing the back of my throat to become sore and affecting my speaking and singing which became croaky. Following advice from a Speech and Language Therapist this has been mainly resolved by me taking a couple of tps of Gavascon

Cardiologist pushing for beta blockers but my heart rate is slow anyway.
Historically I always had a resting pulse rate of 72 but since mid 2018 I've had a low pulse rate of around 50bpm when awake and 38-40 when asleep. An NSTEMI in 2019 followed by some really bad problems with tolerance to medications, mostly causing severe dizzy spells and near collapse but also frequent

First of all, ladies, I wanted to send out a very big heartfelt thank you for all of your feedback and concern. Without your input and experiences I don't know how much longer I would have had to put up with this really awful experience that is now I hope at least over with for the time being. I had
