Feeling really low. Been having pains and breathlessness on exertion which got progressively worse since around end of October. Rapid Access over Christmas. Well you're low risk aren't you..... didn't take weight, only did ECG. Doctor gave beta blockers, GTN spray and aspirin. Two A and E trips, ranexa and statins. CT showed squashed right coronary artery. Consultant said it was fine. Haven't had anything back from scan so presuming it's OK. Waiting on stress test but because of Covid no idea of waiting times. Can't walk without pain and breathing, can't do any housework or anything. Don't know what to do.

Sadly this is a common way for women to be treated, or should I say fobbed off ! As difficult as it may be you have to go back to your GP and insist something is done, if needs be change Consultants, I had to see 3 different ones before anyone took notice. You can also try calling the Consultants secretary and see if she can find out anything, some are really helpful some aren't ! Be persistent, it's the only way we get anywhere.
Thanks. I've emailed the secretary and she's chased stress test for me. I'll give it a couple of weeks and speak to GP. I hope you're OK x
Hi, you have just got me to chase results I thought my gp was phoning about this morning, it turned out he didn't discuss my recent tests he asked me about a previous call from the pharmacist about my meds. I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall trying to get an answer about my breathless, I've asked to be referred back to the cardiologist but computer says no. 🙃 what is it these days you have to do to actually see or speak to a doctor 🤔 sorry that's my rant for today xx the receptionist says she will chase it??? Regards Sheena x
Completely agree. I've had breathlessness and chest pains since October. Never tested for asthma but sent for chest xray. Never had a covid antibody test but did have ECG. Meds without being seen. Just want an answer. Hope you get some results soon. Never felt this frustrated 😞
I had a covid antibody test I paid for, it said I have had covid and I had antibodies at that time, I think I had covid towards the end of March last year but couldn't get a test.. my husband tells people now that he thought he was going to lose me. Im still here but get breathless all the time. I'm not saying it's the covid, I don't know, I just want the doctor to take me seriously. Sheena x
If you have had Covid it’s worth considering long Covid as a possible diagnosis. There are now special long Covid clinics which can particularly help with respiratory issues. What you describe certainly fits in with a lot of the descriptions of long Covid.
Hello Jo31uk
Has your GP or Cardiologist considered
Non obstructive coronary artery disease?
This is an often overlooked and underrecognised type of angina.
Microvascular dysfunction and vasospastic angina?
