Taking aspirin in the evening, before bedtime, is more effective in preventing an unfortunate cardiovascular event than if it is taken in the morning. This is the conclusion of a study by Dutch scientists at Leiden University Medical Center, after analyzing 290 patients who had suffered a heart attack. Specialists found that platelet levels were lower in patients taking aspirin in the evening, which leads to thinning of the blood and prevents blood clots from forming. The number of platelets, which can lead to clots, is naturally higher in the morning. Which means that the risk of heart attack is higher in the morning, immediately before or after the patient wakes up. This is where aspirin comes in, greatly reducing the danger, say Dutch researchers.

Interesting! Thanks for posting that.

According to Harvard Health Publishing:-

Should I take my low-dose aspirin in the morning or at night?

It probably doesn't matter. Platelets are so sensitive to aspirin that a single 81-mg dose will inhibit the stickiness of all the platelets in your body — and the inhibition is irreversible. But if the inhibition is permanent, platelets are not. In fact, they are short-lived cells that are constantly being removed from your blood and replaced by a steady stream of new platelets that pour out from your bone marrow. You need to take aspirin on a regular basis to inhibit these new platelets.

I think I'll stick to a morning dose, hoping that taking it after breakfast will lessen the damage to my stomach. :(
