Hi I’m back low carbing
I did it last year then got burn out and gave up basically I’m also on a drug called Forxiga so I’m doing moderate low carb of 100g per day which surprisingly has been ok as I was told don’t do it Dr gave me the drug and sent me on my merry way which for me didn’t bode well but I got a meter and strips

Seen hormone specialist, more confused than ever...!
I asked if maybe the bio-identical hormones are too weak for me and it would be a good idea to try oral estrogen and progestin (my OB-Gyn has given me a script for
Elleste
Duet
2mg), but the hormone doctor claimed you should never use oral estrogen as it builds up in the liver, and progestins are not

LCHF and clogged arteries
Good morning everyone. I think I may take the prize for longest member who hasn't said a word 😳. I can't remember exactly when I joined up but I check in every day and am in awe of everyone's progress but I have never joined in (ridiculously shy). Over the last year or two I've managed to eat myself

A tale of four hormones
I am gradually getting my head around how and why LCHF works. It’s not enough for me to be told a diet has worked for loads of people, I need my brain to be involved & understand why I have to give up buckwheat pancakes & rye toast. So. Halle Berry does Keto and looks amazing. Bully for her in my view

Just had an episode of Acute Renal Failure and feeling quite distressed

Dietary advice while on Predisnolene
Can anyone help with dietary advice to avoid weight gain, and hopefully lose weight. I was diagnosed with pmr in July, started on 15 mg now down to 10 & trying slow taper to 9. Low carb difficult as I can’t eat lots of fruit & veg. Any advice really appreciated

Newbie!!
Hello, I am new to the site. I have been low thyroid for over 20 years now. I initially welcomed my diagnosis because I hoped that I would be able to lose the weight that I had gained uncharacteristically for me once I had my thyroxine levels ok, but that didn't happen. I found ThyroidUK and tried

Gastric Bypass and PBC
So has anyone else had gastric bypass? I have PBC and I'm worried if it will affect it negatively or positively. Also does PBC affect the thyroid?

What next?
Rheumatology apt. next week but have already decided I'm not going to have an infusion or any Bisphosphonates. I tried Risedronate and it gave me terrible side effects which I'm probably still suffering from. No more horrible drugs for me but I'm carrying on with the exercise, good diet, low carb and

I’m becoming so frustrated with my weight, I run approximately 3 miles 4 times a week and still don’t lose a pound. Trying a low carb diet now

Six monthly check-up
Good evening all Hope you are doing well and having more good days than bad. I have been to the Liver Unit today for my routine scan which seems to be scheduled for every six months now. I think the news was mostly good - my liver is less inflamed, no signs of anything unpleasant developing and spleen

LCHF Dilatory Pattern disturbed briefly -SUGAR LEVEL NOT COMING DOWN .....Afterward!
As an adherent of LCHF diets since 2015 I have been managing my Type 2 condition very satisfactorily. My readings have been around 120 until June 2019. I was trapped into a situation where I was forced to do away with my controlled diets for about a months’ time leaving me with readings around 160

Any ideas to help manage my migraines?
Hi and thanks for reading my post. I'm a 33 year old male who's suffered from migraines since my teens. New Start
Another weight loss diet has started, every year I say this will be the year I am finally going to be normal (what ever normal is). Last year I had many starts and many stops. Having a busy life with constant work pressures I seek comfort in food, it's a way of destroying myself. I hope this year will

Too much fat
I’m on my 5th day of LCHF and tonight I thought I would cook the meatballs with tomato’s and spinach and mozzarella. Looked lovely but I could only manage a few mouthfuls it was just so oily and greasy, was making me feel sick to be honest. Is it because I’m not used to eating so much fat in my diet.

LCHF substitutes
I'm looking at my favourite recipes to see how I can adapt them. Normally I would have used some flour to form a roux for thickening sauces and added breadcrumbs when making meatballs, burgers and so on. Are there effective substitutes?
