Burnt tongue sensation
Hi guys..I have hashimoto's and I'm on Thyroid S. For quite a while now I've had this burnt tongue sensation and I think it's linked to the NDt but not certain. Some days it's much worse than others . Has anyone else had the same "reaction" ? Perhaps it's not the NDt at all but none of my other

Could Pegasys cause hair thinning?
Hi all, I was diagnosed with MF in January 2021. I have been on 45mg of Pegasys weekly since then. I have noticed just recently that my hair appears to be getting thinner and shedding. Wonder if this is a side effect or my age!! 65. Thanks

Glaucoma at young age
Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with glaucoma at 21 years old. I try to stay positive and not stress about something that may not even happen but lately I find it so hard. I am just so scared what the future holds, and negative thoughts just fill up my mind. Also, the health care where I live is not the

Two natural substances seem to help subclinical hypothyroidism
Make of this paper what you will. It claims that myo-inositol and selenium therapy can normalise TSH in subclinical hypothyroidism. I just mention it because it could possibly differentiate those with temporary SCH and those who are firmly on their way to overt hypothyroidism. Front. Endocrinol., 16

My Opinion: Collateral Damage due to Discontinuance of Pramipexole
Hi, All. I was going to write about this year's months-long Hell due to discontinuance of pramipexole virtually cold-turkey, following more than two decades of daily use. Having found that circumstance recently has been described by others, I think it may be more helpful if I instead comment on the

Par Plana Vitrectomy Operation.
Hello I’m fairly new to this site and you all seem such a cohesive and friendly family. I was diagnosed with pseudoexfoliation glaucoma in July of this year following a couple of subconjunctival haemorrhages in my left eye. It’s stable now with Dorzolamide/Timolol eyedrops and I visit the Eye Clinic

Thought of the day - B12 paradox
Like many aspects of life that we're all trying to grapple with, good health comes from a very fine balance. There is no 'one way' to do things, but a sweet spot in the middle. And I believe it's the same with diet, in particular B12. B12 is a regulator of homocysteine. Low B12 is a driver for high

All regular use sublingual opioid medications etc how to protect your teeth.
REGULAR use of sublingual medications, from opioids to Valium etc I break mine into tiny pin head size pieces with a pill cutter. I know 200 mcg Temgesic or 2 mg of Buprenorphine looks very small, however I have followed this process for over 3 years now. - Reasons - Absorption in seconds - Better

Foods that "reduce" glutamate
As I am trying to reduce sedating Pregabalin dosage, I noticed that blueberries are a good food, not only OKAY but actually react to glutamate in a positive way. I don't understand all of the mechanisms but then I googled "foods that reduce glutamate" and found interesting info. One thing, for example

ozurdex and prednisolone
I am on long term steroids for polymyalgia rheumatica on a dose of 6mg. I am due to have Ozurdex injections in the future and wonder how this will affect my steroid load as I have steroid induced tripe 2 diabetes? Not sure if anyone here will be able to help. Thanks

RLS study
just completed phase 1 of an RLS study of a wearable e-stim device for RLS. For me, redults were mixed. Worked well on Right leg which has much milder symptoms than the left. The left did not respond well to the continuous stim. When I’ve used TNS in the past, a modulated wave form was more effective

How do you know your circadian rhythm?
This week I will be starting methadone, which may be the answer for me. If effective, it would give me a chance to change my sleeping pattern from 4am to noon to something more normal. My question is this: How do I determine what my current circadian rhythm is? It might be that I actually am still

Pramipexole supplies
Festive greetings to fellow sufferers…… I have been having difficulties in getting my Pramipexole prescription lately. Pharmacy2U say their suppliers have said that they are out of stock of this drug and I now find many local pharmacies are too! I have been using Lloyds Princess Risborough just recently

Targin and pregabalin
for the last three years I use Targin10/5 mg and 75mg pregabalin it works for 75% at the moment But the 25% what is left is very bad when in full blow nothing helps any more and life is not worth living. My question is would medicinal cannabis at that time help ?

Eye lid infections
Anyone else have this problem? In the last few weeks I have developed infections on the lower eye lid - a stye in the corner and an infected white spot in the middle. I was diagnosed with glaucoma in one eye 2 1/2 years ago and had eye drops since (plus surgery) but the problem only started recently.

Frustration with Pregabalin
My appointment with Prof. Walker at Queen Square for RLS is not until February next year, so moving to opioids is not an option until then. In the meantime, since around July (after having been on Ropinirole for 15 years), I moved to taking 300mg Pregabalin of an evening ... which I then have to top
