Dietary interventions for heart disease
This is one of the most extraordinary videos about heart disease I've seen, and I thought it might be of general interest. Dr Lundell is a retired heart surgeon who became distressed by seeing people traipse through his operating theatre with the same old problems, and asked himself: why is this happening

Indapamide - Does peeing more than normal settle down?
I've recently been prescribed the diuretic Indapamide (1.5mg). A cardiologist suggested that the effects of peeing more than normal can tend to settle down after about a month. Has anyone found that to be the case for them? I cycle between 30 and 50 miles, 5 mornings a week , so the inconvenience of

HbA1c testing
I have a fasting HbA1c test each year as part on my T2 check up. My wife's GP wanted a series of blood test for her and her HbA1c was non fasting. Do fasting and non fasting tests give the same results. I assume that my fasting test is to get a separate result from the HbA1c.

I do have raised blood sugar levels but not to the point of a type 2 diabetes diagnosis and am medicated for high

Electrolyte Imbalance.
I am having problems with my electrolytes being low. Especially my potassium. I have to take a diuretic. It’s supposed to be potassium sparing, but I still have issues. I was prescribed potassium pills. I, am unable to take them, the side effects are horrible. I try to eat a banana everyday. But, that

Had my ablation!!!
I am home safe and sound and so pleased I was brave enough to go through with it! I even prayed the night before that we would get snowed in. The whole procedure was calm and I was really well sedated, the only thing I felt was the brain freeze which lasted for seconds. My chest and throat are a bit

Low carb and Keto diets
I am currently reading 'Eat rich Live Long' by Cummins and Gerber MD. It is a fascinating book that borders on being a full blown medical textbook in that it provides the most lucid explanation I have seen about the devastating effects of eating sugar on the human body, what it does to the bodies systems

Diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 25 weeks
Any ladies have experience with this. I was diagnosed yesterday after a week of feeling really shitty. I have the clinic on Monday but I’ve been googling (stupidly) and I’m worried about the effects it may have on my baby.

Diet is a game changer for PMR
Going into year 4 with PMR. I have had tremendous success with a diet of clean eating. Protein meal replacement drink mix and 30 days without Wheat,Dairy or Sugar has enabled me to live pain free. Sugar is the worst culprit for pmr.

DePrescribing Site Woes
I'm really, really sorry that so many are having trouble accessing the site I posted earlier on medicines to be wary of because of age, I am not a member of that site and have never had to "sign in" so I don't know what the difference is but in this post I'll try to send along some more accessible information
