One month post AV node ablation
It is almost a month since my AV node ablation and the swelling and shortness of breath have subsided. My pacemaker is currently set to rate response with a range of 80-130. I recently started riding my bike again taking it slow for now until I build my stamina back up. I am feeling much better and except

AF and Metformin
My dr just put me on Metformin for prediabetes (only matter of time before I get diabetes) do you think there is any correlation between AF treatments not working and almost being diabetic. I wasn’t treated for diabetes before last week.

Hello everyone
I really hope I’m doing this right and posting in the correct place. This is my first week of joining the weight loss support. For the first few weeks I’m going to follow a very low calorie sole source diet. It seems to be the only way I’ve had success in the past. Starting weight today 88kg Would

WHY DIETING IS ALSO INSISTED UPON FOR DIABETICS WHILE UNDER MEDICATION?
Once diagnosed as diabetic, doctors prescribe drugs either to induce secretions of insulin or correct the varied qualities of insulin secreted, depending on the exact cause. It is accepted that it is not a disease caused by any foreign bodies but a condition that arose as the consequence of a reduced

Calprotectin level 1500
Have been prescribed Prednisolone tablets, Octasa tablets and Ad-Cal. Shocked at how many I have to take every day, on top of the meds I already take.

Condition checking
I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes (to be controlled by diet) in June. I had my eyes photo'd, my feet checked. I was given eating advice which you could sum up as follow the Eatwell Plate. I am in my 80s and have tried to follow that plate for as long as I 've known of its existence. So nothing is

Zoe Programme
I am lucky to be participating in the Zoe Nutrition programme. As part of this my blood glucose is measured constantly via a sensor on my arm. I understand that prednisolone affects blood sugar. I normally take my pred with breakfast. But I have pushed taking my dose back to late afternoon during

SWITCHING TO INSULIN INJECTION FROM ORAL
As a Type 2, I have been managing my fasting sugar level of around 120 since the late 90s very successfully by following the devices of my USA-qualified Endocrinologist. My regular diet centered around LCHF with Diamicrone 80 twice a day. Covid-19 changed my whole system. After taking the 2nd dose

Effects of cocoa extract and a multivitamin on cognitive function: A randomized clinical trial
Abstract Introduction Dietary supplements are touted for cognitive protection, but supporting evidence is mixed. COSMOS-Mind tested whether daily administration of cocoa extract (containing 500 mg/day flavanols) versus placebo and a commercial multivitamin-mineral (MVM) versus placebo improved cognition

IBOGA
Iboga, ordered 25 grams today and will start "microdosing" soon. Iboga is legal in Germany. I already had party drug experience two decades ago! :-) . A phase 2 study is to begin. I am currently establishing contact. Excerpt from a letter: In the meantime, iboga is not only interesting for addiction

Raised cholesterol
I have been advised to take cholesterol medication by nhs endocrinologist. He did genetic testing for familial hyperlipidemia, which was negative but had an anomaly. I was given Atirvastatin which I haven’t tried as it seems to be one that has worse side effects for patients with thyroid disease. I
