Once diagnosed as diabetic, doctors prescribe drugs either to induce secretions of insulin or correct the varied qualities of insulin secreted, depending on the exact cause. It is accepted that it is not a disease caused by any foreign bodies but a condition that arose as the consequence of a reduced supply of insulin in its quality or quantity, by our system.
The medication whatever procedure is adhered to is to meet the lost supply of quality/quantity of insulin. If so, then why should we reduce the regular food intake we used to take before, especially the carbs?
The forced reduction of our intake of foods, which we follow traditionally, in parallel with the therapy for diabetic conditions, really punishes our system doubly which seems an unnecessary step! All diabetics look sick always!!
This question arises in light of the alternative types of foods not requiring as much insulin as carbs, the LCHF, which proved to be very effective in managing diabetes.

"Diabetes is a disease that occurs when your blood glucose, also called blood sugar, is too high. Blood glucose is your main source of energy and comes from the food you eat. Insulin, a hormone made by the pancreas, helps glucose from food get into your cells to be used for energy."
"Diabetes may increase a person's risk of feeling nauseated because diabetes-related complications, such as hyperglycemia, can cause nausea. People can take the following steps to help prevent or reduce their risk of developing complications that can lead to nausea: taking medication exactly as a doctor has prescribed."
Modern living, modern food, work practice, travelling to and back from work needs changes.
I saw an 81 year old farmer in a video clip in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, he started farming from the age of 12 after his parents death, very happy in the farm, no health issues, why? the way of living.
“The forced reduction of our intake of foods, which we follow traditionally, in parallel with the therapy for diabetic conditions, really punishes our system doubly which seems an unnecessary step!”….because of these steps recommended by all doctors….. “All diabetics look sick always!!”
It seems our resorting to dieting while taking medications for eliminating excess/unwanted sugar is an unnecessary step!
Medicine seems an open-ended topic, the answers to any question varies from person to person and also from time to time. The answers to this question also seem infinite.
For a layman’s point of view; diabetic is the results of the absence of something which was existing earlier and the medication intend replacing the missing item.
Once it is replaced, why not we go on consuming as we used to, prior to this unwanted situation?
Going to the unknown through known is nothing but a rational approach.
Insulin is identified as a main ingredient in contributing to the predicament we are discussing now. Insulin though has come a household term and even among youngsters, it was not so in the earlier days. When we go into this aspect very seriously, in conjunction with the changed methods of usages of our body parts, we find more questions than answers.
The compositions of our food intakes and the process of its conversion require more and more researches as there may be much minute items/secretions we are not familiar with now but may be more powerful-triggering effects then insulin.
After reading your response, I looked for answers in Google for "Sugar showed in my urine" . Would it be possible for you to explain what tests you do to determine "Sugar showed in my urine"
Now if your HbA1c is 38 or 39, UK, GP will say all clear for diabetes but in you case it is not!!. therefore I take it we all have to do both HbA1c and " sugar in urine test.?
Diabetes are two types. Type1- no or very less insulin production. Type 2- high insulin production. Majority are type2. In type2 you can reverse it through LCMPHF diet and intermittent fasting. Why go for expensive medications if you can control it through this method? Also you would have to increase your medications like insulin injection and tablets as you age. Hope this helps
I think more weightage should be given to hba1c and fasting insulin. Hba1c should be less than 5.8 and fasting insulin should be less than 5. Post prandial increase would be there. As long as it doesn't go above 160 it is ok. For me i only have 2 meals a day and IF for 18 hours. My levels have come down below 5.8 and 5. You have to be strict with diet and continue with it.
