Calprotectin level 1500

Have been prescribed Prednisolone tablets, Octasa tablets and Ad-Cal.

Shocked at how many I have to take every day, on top of the meds I already take.

Hi Dawn, what milligram are you taking & how many per day. Other than pred & Octasa are you on any other medications?

I know how you feel. I am just out of my third hospitalisation this year with another bucketful of horrid drugs. I feel very worried by it. I am going to look for some gentler therapies to help strengthen my poor body for the ordeal ahead.

Hi Valerie, im the same, not just with IBD, I also have damage in my brain due to strokes and seizures, Mesial Temporal Sclerosis they call it. Also recently had Otitis Media with effusion and still not fully cleared so thats affecting balance, disorientation, dizziness and slight confusion, a recent ct was ok tho. Its the constant tiredness thats annoying also. Im guessing thats the inflammation which is causing fatigue.

its so hard when you have several conditions and try to keep on an even keel Dawn. I have steroid induced osteoporosis of the spine and have had a number of spinal fractures this year. This is actually at the top of my list at the moment because if the disabling pain etc so need to sort gut so as not to have any more steroids… I hope you get a break. Fatigue is a bit depressing but Ive decided to thank my lucky stars Im retired and can live slowly if I need to.

That's what I'm doing Valerie, is taking things a lot slower than i used to do, if i dont then dizziness gets worse. I think its down to me "getting older" 😒 as ive never had anything wrong apart from a TIA 9 years ago. The strokes i mentioned were silent strokes so i didnt know anything about them until a CT in April.

No matter what problems we have, we still keep going. I hope you are sorted soon, and hope you enjoy your retirement. X
