Is neuropathy related to Thyroid? If so, what tests do I get?
I have periperal neuropathy primarily in my feet/shins. Is neuropathy related to thyroid issues? If so, is there anyrhing else to test except for a standard thyroid panel? I do currently take B12 injections every 4 days so I have that cause covered which has helped but wondering if something else is

colonoscopy with sedation
I am due to have a colonoscopy.... but three attempts previously were failures. This time I am to be sedated with Propofol. Which I am told is quite strong. Obviously, the consultant and his anaesthetist are are aware of my lung problems. But I am aware of just how painful the last three attempts

crazy or not?
I am in chronic pain in spine painkillers not helping. What I need help with is the way it all makes me feel I have no ffamily or friends . Isolated. I get panicky when pain is out of control, I feel freaked out and alone and am devoid of positive feelings everything everyday feels bleak no respite

RLS or PN does it matter?
Is the treatment for peripheral neuropathy and painful restless legs syndrome the same? I don’t know which I have but if treatment is the same then I guess it doesn’t matter?

Burning heels
My sister-in-law has for a few weeks now had a burning sensation around the edges of her heels and more recently tingling down the outside edge of her feet. It's worst when direct pressure on her feet eg when driving. A podiatrist has told her most likely neuropathy as a result of previous surgery she

Further Tips Please.
Thanks for the concern and advice in response to my first post 2 months ago.I am currently 5 weeks off the primipexol after 12 months of gradual weaning. Many people talk about experiencing the worst 3 weeks of your life after the final dose and my reactions are still extremely strong. It is like a convulsion

Anyone find cold plunge or sauna helpful?
I'm six weeks in on ADT. Working to stay ahead of fatigue with resistance training and weighted vest walking as I gear up for radiation and chemo in the next few months. Anyone done any cold plunge or sauna to help battle side effects or get better sleep? What was your experience?

It Seems Like Berberine Should Be Part Of The Anti-AD Armamentarium
We have previously discussed Berberine on this forum as potentially useful against PD as well as having a multitude of other positive health effects in many various health conditions. This new study (April, 2024) suggests that Berberine may have anti-AD effects worth considering, at least in a mouse

NK cells and pcos -steroids or hydroxychloroquine?
Hi all, I’m under Prof Shehata’s NHS clinic (recurrent miscarriage )and my results showed raised NK cells although activation markers were in range. Everything else pretty good too although AMH was very high which is not necessarily a good thing and suggests that my PCOS is back (was diagnosed approx

Parkinsons exercises
Has anyone used imagery with movement exercises? It's researched based. I'm listening to Franklin Method Fellowship | Episode 10: Parkinson's Disease on Podbean, check it out. Www.Franklinmethodfellowship.podbean.com.

Is carvedilol making you cold?
I recently had my Carvedilol increased to 6.25mg twice a day. Lately, I am freezing to the bone. I turn my heating up and up and am still cold when everyone else says its like a sauna. I just wondered if anyone else has this? It could also be my recent addition of diabetes medication, Sitagliptin. Never

Tapering off Prednisolone 5mg suppositories
Hello all, I'm wondering if anyone here has used Predsol 5mg suppositories for 3 months? My Gastro said it was ok to use them that long . . . I'm wondering if I need to taper off (for eg, use every second day for a few weeks?) The gastro was not happy with me last visit as my bleeding had come back

Hashimotos for Sixteen Years, Realizing I Know Next to Nothing
This is a long story, and as with so much in this "we have too much info" age, I'm probably over-responding, but, I was recently blindsided by a new health condition, and I don't fancy having it happen again if there are cues available. I've had hypothyroidism/Hashimotos for 16-17 years, at least based

Horizant versus pregabalin / gabapentin dosage effectiveness
Howdy folks! ....I've recently switched from pregabalin 200mg to Horizant - which I'm taking 300-600mg. Prior to that, I've used as much as 1800mg gabapentin. I'm getting some decent benefits from the relatively low dose of Horizant and was wondering if there are any others who have experienced

Good News!!!
My dr. approved the buprenorphine for me. I am thinking positive that it will work. She is giving me the patch. I am excited. I have to discontinue the horizant though which surprised me and of course discontinue the oxycodone. Hopefully now you won't have to listen to me complaining and I will
