PA and Metformin
As of a visit to my GP this morning, I'm staring down the barrel of Type 2
diabetes
and, whilst having already begun to implement a
diet
/exercise regime, I was wondering what effect metformin might have on my B12 levels as I'm already SI every 2-3 weeks, depending on symptoms.

Prescribed Diamox, on pred, not feeling good
Hi. I’m currently stable for PMR on 8mg. I have macula odeama in one eye, the last ozurdex injection was in December. Check up on Thursday showed no odeama and the retina is holding but pressure was up to 33. Dr prescribed Diamex, with Diffu X to protect potassium, and additional drops. I took 2 x 250mg

Prednisone and Diabetes ...
Has anyone become diabetic from taking prednisone? I am on a low dose, alternating between 5mg and 2.5mg . My recent blood work indicated that I am now pre diabetic. My BMI is 24.5 and I rarely eat complex carbs, never drink alcoholic beverages or carbonate sodas. I am very careful with my diet. I

Low carb confusion
I'm so confused. My CRP level is high. Looking up CRP, the 'C' stands for carbohydrate. So I presumed cutting down on carbs would be the thing to do to get my CRP level under control. I looked up low carb diets and recipes. Most sites say to avoid bread, pasta & root veg. BHF site says to eat bread,

So pleased
From last October I changed my
diet
, my
diabetes
readings are now normal due to losing three stones. Yesterday I had a second fibroscan and I was so happy as my reading for kpa is now 13.4 which is still high but a lot lower than the initial reading.

low blood sugar
I read if one starts having really low blood sugar it might be a sign of
diabetes
. I am 71, 5‘6“ and weigh 120 #. My
diet
is good. I exercise by walking. The doctor has not called me. Has anyone had this or know anything about it? Thank you! Should I call my primary care doctor?

Effect of thyroid hormones on blood glucose
PART I — I know how thyroid hormones (TH) raise blood glucose. — In liver, TH increases expression of GLUT2 -->increase in both gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis. —In liver, T3 increases gluconeogenesis by increasing activity of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK) —the TH stimulated glycogenolysis

T4 / T3 causing significant glucose spike
Despite eating low carb and having normal fasting blood glucose in the morning, I been getting these wicked glucose spikes ***12 hours after my dose of T4 / 6 hours after my first dose of T3*** I can't determine which one is causing it yet, but it's been basically the same two days in a row. I take

Creatine Clearance while on Edoxaban
